Puerto Morelos is quite close to the airport but not as touristy as Cancun. Casitas Kinsol is on the more quiet side of Puerto Morelos. We felt very safe here and we loved our nicely decorated and very clean room in the middle of a beautiful garden. We were given lots of interesting and important recommendations.

Casitas Kinsol is a treasure for travelers. I cannot speak highly enough about Christine's hospitality, extensive expertise and the magical space she has created for travelers. Are you creative, down to earth, appreciate art and one of a kind places and things? Then book here. I stayed there only two nights and three days but Christine and her husband went... More

Casitas Kinsol is amazing! We arrived late and were met by Christine, who was easy to contact by phone or email, and was waiting for us with the keys to our bungalow (Room 8). Initially I was impressed by the friendly welcome, which was informative, cordial, and while thorough, was also to the point and allowed us to get to... More

This is a funky- cool place, but I do not know how anyone sleeps here. It's like sleeping in a cabin, which is a cool idea, until the mosquitoes come and eat you alive!! We stayed in "the most popular casita" which is really cool looking with a loft. But the old, falling apart, stairs made it very difficult to... More

Sadly Kinsol was our final stay for our trip so we only stayed one night. It was a great last night, despite a small snafu. The hosts were super helpful and had great suggestions for food and activities. The power went off at midnight and they responded right away and worked for an hour to get it up and running.... More

Alain was so helpful that he stood out as the best host we had for 3 weeks. Before arriving he gave us useful advice to avoid getting taken advantage at the airport - every word he said happened and we were able to handle the situation like a local instead of tourist. He gave us countless good advice on travel... More

I was impressed with the quality of this hostel for the price I paid. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet Natural Environment. Location was excellent and walkable distance to the Bus station and Beach!. Staff was friendly and helpful with giving us a map, directions, and opinions of places to go. I would definitely stay here again.

After a lost passport moved my flights out to a very busy week I had to rejigger the trip and glad it included this home. I arrived to Christine and her 3 dogs with a very encouraging welcome. Alain called a taxi, I went to town hung out in the beach and enjoyed my last night of fresh ceviche. Nice... More

There were so many problems with the stay it was hard to find anything good. To start the night off there was a horrible smell of smoke. When my sister tried to plug in the fan to help disperse the smell it was a shocking experience.. Literally. Sparks flew out of the plug-in. When we had a closer look we... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casitas Kinsol is a Guest House with 8 rooms for rent in Puerto Morelos, on the Mayan Riviera, 25 minutes South of the airport international of Cancun and 4 blocks from the main bus stop in town. It resides in the heart of the “Colonia” of Puerto Morelos conveniently located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen and only 2 miles to the beach. Surrounded by many eateries, grocery stands and stores, it offers 8 romantic rooms and bungalows: 4 with kitchenettes and 4 without. All the rooms have basic amenities at low prices for double occupancy. The rooms come with private baths, hot showers, air fans and a unique décor designed by the owners. Most of them come with WI-FI. Room #1:The Master Room is (as well as the room 8) an authentic Mayan hut where Mayan people used to leave until the early 1990's. It has been converted to a large room with its private bathroom. The thatched roof was replaced by a stucco one with two skylights. Two small windows were added to bring some more light to the room. It has cement floor and tiles in the large bathroom. It is a very large standalone, ground floor, hut style bungalow, complete with a full-size (double) bed and one twin-size (single) bed, so it will accommodate 3 persons. Private bathroom and kitchenette. It offers a refrigerator and two burner stove-top but no ovens or microwave. No microwave or standard ovens, no dishwasher either. This room has a front door allowing you to exit onto the boulevard without having to go through the grounds but also a backdoor giving you access to the gardens and relaxation areas as well. ... more   less
