The village and property cannot be seen from the main road ,but was not a problem finding with our sat nav and as we climbed higher and higher the view was fantastic looking down the river and valley. Greeted by Maria and her husband,we're offered a glass of port, and told dinner would be served around a communal table at 8pm.... More

The place is beautiful, with a nice garden and swimming pool to relax while enjoying some amazing views. Dinner was excellent, dont miss it. For 15 euros pp includes 3 courses and very good house wines. Rooms are very confy. The family is incredibly nice and attentive. highly reccomended. One thing, do not take the scenic route along the river... More

After 3 nights it is time to reluctantly be moving on, Maria you did all proud, food friendliness (lack of Portugese/English presented no real hurdles). Use coordinates. But when arrived continue on until you see a pink house and told to turn right,it is a simpler way in. Eat I at night, very few places to go to anyway, and food... More

After reading all the amazing reviews here, I was curious of what made this place so special that everyone was so impressed. After staying there for 2 nights, I can say that the reviews truly do it justice. The house is amazing and hospitality at the highest level. If you have the opportunity, stay here! You won't regret it for... More

All the TA reviews mention the great family and dinners. I agree totally so will leave it at that. If you are used to 5 star hotels and need those amenities, this probably isn't for you. This is a cozy, comfortable, 3 star place that is filled with love and character. You will get 5 star service, at no additional... More

After driving up the narrow road to Casa Cimeira on a cold December afternoon, we were instantly greeted by Paulo, led to a roaring log fire and served a glass of home made port wine.I knew we were in for a great weekend! Our room was fantastic, very regal with huge bed, exquisite furnishings and great views over the Douro... More

Arturio & Maria's hospitality was a highlight of our visit to Portugal. Despite us not speaking Portuguese (only English); we were welcomed straight away as Aussies from afar. Room: well appointed; great views; good heating; comfortable bed. Getting there: our GPS didn't quite find it. Tip: just keep driving up that hill until you start to feel lost & completely... More

Superb B&B with breathtaking views. Excellent base to explore the quintas around Pinhao. Our hosts were charming and helpful. As for everything in the Douro, be ready for quite a ride uphill to reach Casa Cimeira; you may want to arrive before it's dark. Homemade dinner with the other guests was a highlight of our trip.

we had a bit of a challenge finding the Casa at the top of a hill with dramatic views of the Douro River and the wine country. Portugal's like that. Such a welcome, however, We joined about 10 other guests who had been sipping wine and port in the lounge adjacent to the family style dining room for an ample... More

Family run B&B with candid and warm hosts. Home-cocked dinner including port and wine from Casa Cimeira are worthwhile and a real bargain. Stunning view of the Douro Valley, lovely ground with pool, tranquility. WiFi access worked well in our room. Casa Cimeira is easy to find with a standard GPS and once arrived in the village, follow the signs.... More
