Staying at Casa Cimeira feels like staying with your aunt Maria and uncle Arturo. With hardly any English, they make you feel at home and let you stay in their house. Needless to say, dinner is made for all guests and is decided by Maria (she does consult you for your preference; chicken or beef.....). A great place to stay... More

If you are looking for a place to stay in the Douro valley I highly recommend casa cimeira! Beautiful house, very warm welcoming, delicious porto and delicious food (served in very generous portions!) It is very quiet with a breathtaking view over the valley. The owners are very nice and make you feel at home. Perfect place to relax and... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Cimeira in October. From the outside, it looked ordinary, but once you step into the courtyard, it becomes a truly memorable property. The hosts are charming, especially Maria who makes sure you eat enough! We had a large room with modern bath. The dinner was delicious with all the wine you wanted. Three... More

This is not your typical hotel, rather a heart-warming, charming property run by the most welcoming family ever. Tucked high in a quiet village (getting there is part of the adventure, the environment is absolutely stunning, one of the prettiest areas of Portugal!), Casa Cimeira offers stunning views on the Douro valley and a relaxing setting where you'll quickly feel... Casa Cimeira is located in a small village up the Duoro Valley. On arrival you are made welcome with a glass or two of port before being taken to your room. The generous sized rooms are elegant and comfortable with walls of stone and wood. The bed is comfortable and the bathrooms are roomy with all modcons. Meals are a... More

This was a highlight of our three week trip to Portugal. There are so many reasons to stay at the Casa Cimeira. The outstanding hospitality of Maria and Arturo and even though we only spoke English, communication was no problem. From the greeting of a glass of port from Maria to Arturo driving us out to one of their vineyards... More

Stayed there for one night when travelling from Salamanca to Porto. We booked that place after reading the great reviews both on TA and booking.com. and they are all true. We received a family-like welcome and glass of port wine for beginning. Hosts do not speak English but it's not a problem for them - so you also should not... More

I don't know where to begin with this one. The rooms are beautiful (old fashioned but with loads of character). The owners Maria and Arturo were absolutely lovely and couldn't do more for you. They don't speak English but make an effort to speak slowly and work through conversations and have a natural talent for making you feel at ease.... More

If you want to relax, this is the place. We felt very comfortable from the first second after checking in. All the family members of this family-run business are extremely nice. Sitting at the pool, drinking some wine coming from the grapes which grow just a few meters next to the pool - great. Also very much to recommend is... More

The village and property cannot be seen from the main road ,but was not a problem finding with our sat nav and as we climbed higher and higher the view was fantastic looking down the river and valley. Greeted by Maria and her husband,we're offered a glass of port, and told dinner would be served around a communal table at 8pm.... More
