This is an amazing tented camp which is luxurious . The staff are helpful and nothing is to much trouble. The camp is that historically of Joy Adamson and there is a small section of memorabilia in reception looking at Joy and her work. Tent number 8 is sighted on the spot Joys tent was situated amazing to think the... More

Wonderful experience! Spent 3 nights here and I will never forget the incredible sights. Shaba has so much to offer. Was able to see Mrs. Joy Adamson grave sight. What a wonderful woman who brought so much to animal conservation especially in regards to leopards. Speaking of leopards, the one in particular that Mrs. Adamson worked with Pippa; I was... More

We stayed three nights in early September and one of the nights, we were the only guests! Yes indeed...very spoiled! The food was delicious and they accommodated our vegetarian diet without hesitation! Very creative and tasty dishes! While the game viewing in Shaba can be a bit sparse, our guide, Muhamed did a fabulous job in finding outstanding wildlife scenes!... More

Three nights at Joy's camp and boy were we lucky, we were the only guests and didn't Joab, the manager, spoil us. The camp is in a wonderful location with fantastic views. Rooms (tents) are large and extremely comfortable, the food is exciting and beautifully prepared and served. Staf are there to help you in every way. Mohammed, our driver... More

Set in the arid Shaba reserve north of Nairobi, Joy's Camp nestles behind a green expanse where elephants, giraffe, wildebeest, warthogs and even the occasional hyena gather to graze on the surprisingly lush grass. I loved the luxury tents where the breeze flaps against the canvas and you wake to the sound of bird song. The dining area - and... More

What a beautiful camp. A little out of the way but worth the drive. George is a great host and the staff are very attentive but also relaxed and enjoyable to be around. We loved being able to see the watering hole from everywhere in camp. Fun watching all the animals wandering around.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us, as much as we enjoyed hosting you. We hope to see you in Kenya again soon. Indeed, Shaba's remoteness is one of the many things that make it so special - it is off the beaten track, so you really have the Reserve to yourself at Joy's Camp. At this... More

This place is just amazing. Due to the small size, it means not many travellers go to Joys Camp as they prefer the bigger parks. This means the animals here are more wild, i.e Real. The mangers and there sons are super welcoming. The food is very very good. The managers even let us travel to Sumburu National Park for... More

Shaba is all about the way it used to be - being able to experience the wildness of Africa without being surrounded by large numbers of vehicles and at Joy's Camp, you often do get the feeling that you are literally in the middle of nowhere, with no-one around. Shaba truly does have a very special atmosphere and the animals... More

Three couples of us traveled together for our two-week trip to Kenya. Joy's Camp was one of the highlights; our visit there too short. Set in a beautiful location, our "tent" was on the site of Joy Adamson's original tent. We looked out over the spring to watch zebra, elephant and other animals grazing. The tent was well appointed and... More

We spent two nights here and I could have stayed the whole time! Make sure to wake up early and hear what I called the Morning Animal Symphony. All the animals are waking up and they sounds they make are quite unbelievable! The service was out of this world and the people were over the top accommodating!

I am so sad that I only spent one night here as this is a camp that needs a little more time to enjoy (just likes its sister property at Elsa's kojie). We went in the rainy season so the game was a little on the sparse side in the park but this did not detract from how lovely the... More
