This place is just amazing. Due to the small size, it means not many travellers go to Joys Camp as they prefer the bigger parks. This means the animals here are more wild, i.e Real. The mangers and there sons are super welcoming. The food is very very good. The managers even let us travel to Sumburu National Park for... More

Shaba is all about the way it used to be - being able to experience the wildness of Africa without being surrounded by large numbers of vehicles and at Joy's Camp, you often do get the feeling that you are literally in the middle of nowhere, with no-one around. Shaba truly does have a very special atmosphere and the animals... More

Three couples of us traveled together for our two-week trip to Kenya. Joy's Camp was one of the highlights; our visit there too short. Set in a beautiful location, our "tent" was on the site of Joy Adamson's original tent. We looked out over the spring to watch zebra, elephant and other animals grazing. The tent was well appointed and... More

It was a great privilege to get to know you all and to have you stay with us at Joy's Camp. We really enjoyed our chats too - especially over dinner that last evening! We're delighted that you have taken our pumpkin and coconut soup recipe home with you - do let us know how it turns out, we're sure... More

We spent two nights here and I could have stayed the whole time! Make sure to wake up early and hear what I called the Morning Animal Symphony. All the animals are waking up and they sounds they make are quite unbelievable! The service was out of this world and the people were over the top accommodating!

I am so sad that I only spent one night here as this is a camp that needs a little more time to enjoy (just likes its sister property at Elsa's kojie). We went in the rainy season so the game was a little on the sparse side in the park but this did not detract from how lovely the... More

We are a family with two young kids and have done quite a few safaris already. And actually my wife and kids already visited Joy's Camp already when we lived in Kenya in 2010. So I heard the reviews and of course ensured that I was included on the next trip. So in May 2015 our family made the trip... More

Dear John Great to hear from you and thank you for such a lovely review. We really enjoyed hosting you and your family and were thrilled that you saw the Wild Dogs. We have had many more great sightings so they're certainly still about. Delighted to hear you'll be back again some day - hopefully sooner rather than later Best... More

Joy's Camp gives guests the opportunity to experience one of the most stunning parts of Kenya: off the beaten track, and away from the tourist masses in one of the more remote parts of the country. I should start by stating that our stay at Joy's Camp came courtesy of a fundraising auction, with the week-end donated towards a conservation... More

Joy's is an elegant and impeccably maintained safari camp in the Northern Frontier region. With architecture and decor inspired by the native Samburu and Borana people, this camp has a rather exotic and other-worldly air. Each spacious and luminous guest tent opens onto an extensive grazing area bordered by woodland, where visiting animals can be observed from the tent's private... More

Thank you so much for your review. We so loved hosting you at Joy's Camp and spending time getting to know you - we often recall your time with us. Lady Luck was definitely on your side. The third leg of our safari. This C&P camp is different again to the previous 2 making it very special in its own right. We enjoyed the 4 hour drive from Elsa's Kopje and it was good to get to see the 'real Kenya' outside of luxury camps. We were met by relief managers Chloe and James. The tents are... More

Beautiful large tents. Good choice of seating on the verandah. Good to see that the mosquito nets over the bed did not just cover the bed but were large enough to enclose the bedside tables, meaning that if you need your torch or water etc during the night you don’t have to fight to get out of the mosquito net... As 5 year old child my parents took me to watch Born Free in 1974. Although the film was released in 1966 it came to Sri Lanka at that time. After that i forgot about it. But as a keen Wild Life enthusiast & a well known Hasher it re started with my travelling to Africa. I did this for... More
