Our room had a magnificent sea view as do most rooms) A comfortable bed, spotless linen, very efficient air conditioning, and a roomy bathroom with plenty of hot water, worked well. Breakfast was basic and a lack of a menu meant we did not know we could order omelettes and fruit. The sun areas near the sea are not child... More

Hotel Xenia in Chora Sfakion has the best location in town. Right at the end of the old harbour, with a private stairway access to the Libyan Sea behind the hotel (nice for a quick dip and great for snorkling), and 100 meters further on you will find a small beach. We had a Family room with 2 bedrooms, and... More

The best location in Hora Sfakion, on a small peninsula. From the hotel you can see the South Cretan (former Libyan) Sea, and to the town, just a few steps away. We had this view even from our balcony, as it was on the 3rd floor corner (room 303, I think). It was said to be the best room, and... More

We go to Loutro via Sfakia each year and everytime we get on the ferry and start the short trip to Loutro we see the Xenia hotel nestling in the far corner of the Sfakia bay... Well this time we did not go to Loutro but decided to stay in the Xenia Hotel for a three day break and boy... More

We got booked into this hotel by our tour operator on a walking holiday on the coast. We only stayed two nights there, but wished it could have been more. The rooms have recently been renovated and were simply furnished but spotlessly clean. We all balconies or terraces and air conditioning. The manager, Iorgos, and his wife, are funny, very... More

We had two connected rooms in the new part of the hotel, a huge corner balcony with a breathtaking view over the bay and the village. The rooms were very spacious and had free air conditioning, cable YV, hairdryer and fridge. I would say every room here has a great view from the balcony as the hotel is surrounded by... More

had a fantastic stay here, the hotel is perfectly situated with great views across the harbour; staff are great, friendly and welcoming. Had a lovely meal there on our first night, pork from the spit and plenty of other tasty options in the kitchen. Superb fresh fruit juice for breakfast. Room was large and comfortable with good view of hi... More

Good : best position, sea- all yours, huge parking, spectacular view, superb rooms, general width and comfort, homemade cuisine, internet and best of all - the people of Xenia. Georgos and Vana are the soul of Xenia and they'll never let you down. Bad: packing stuff and leaving this place :) Just go with maximal confidence and enjoy life.

We stayed here because we were tracing the evacuation route of a portion of the British, Australian, and NZ forces during the Battle of Crete. Hard to believe they pulled 16,000 people off that tiny shingle beach - while German mountain troops were battling on the cliffs above. Nice memorial commemorating it. Considered the favorite hotel of Lonely Planet in... More

We spent a fantastic few days here, in a top-floor room with great views, air conditioning and friendly, relaxed staff. The little town is delightful... visit the very moving war memorial at the harbour, enjoy the fine restaurants of which Xenia's own taverna is one of the best. Suffice to say we shall be back next year, and will stay... More
