Nhonguane Lodge's Tented Camp is a very well-equipped, private venue, ideal for a peaceful, restful break away from it all. Don't even think of driving there if you don't have a proper 4-wheel drive vehicle with high ground clearance to get through the thick sand.

Santa Maria is absolutely amazing if you are trying to get away from the crowds and be in touch with nature. The lodge has been built well, the accommodation has all the basic necessities and the gardens are beautifully landscaped. The only problem is that the roads are terrible, you need a good 4x4 vehicle, a good driver and lots... More

Prior to arriving, I was exceptionally stressed about this holiday after dealing with the previous managing agents. Fortunately, issues were resolved and we had an amazing time in paradise. We stayed in House 4 which sleeps 8 comfortably, aircons worked, enough fridge and freezer space and staff were exceptional. However, the beds and toilet seats need to be replaced. The... More

We stayed in house number 4 towards the back of the property. It was in very good condition. The lodge has had issues with the previous manager who ransacked some of the houses before recently leaving. The owners did absolutely everything possible to accommodate our needs. We had our own pool, ice and local bread were supplied daily. I caught... More

We were promised that there would be mosquito nets but upon arrival there were no nets. The staff said there were no, so we all looked like we had chickenpox after the first and second night, and I had to ask several times to get nets. At the end we got one net with big holes and one single-bed net... More

Staff was very firndly and the house was impeccable. If you have a boat of your own it is a deal. However, we were dependent on a boat that was between 1 and 2 hours late everytime we had to get picked up.

After spending time at this lodge in June 2012, we booked and went back for the December holidays. The weather was heavenly, the fishing great, the beaches very peaceful and the other guests full of fun. It's a holiday that allows us great family time and time to unwind without the crowds! We are already looking to go back...

We booked at very short notice and although we were not prepared for the self-catering style of the lodge, Sonia and the staff were very helpful in taking us to the village shop so we could stock up on essentials and we bought the freshest prawns from the lodge! We had a fantastic 2 day break and the children enjoy... More

We had no idea what to expect on this little adventure holiday we had set ourselves for 10 days in the June school holidays. We loved the fact that the beach was constantly changing with the tides, that there were no crowds, that the staff and owners were so friendly and accomodating...and that we could spend the best family holiday...
