Stayed at the unicorn for 2 nights and all I can say is I cannot fault the place at all. It was extremely busy on both nights - Friday and Saturday and the staff coped very well considering the amount of people in the place and the wedding party that seemed to be staying. I would highly recommend this hotel... More

This is a hotel that is an add on to a popular riverside pub nicely located for seeing Nottingham and the Ale of Belvoir. There is a number of steps to get to the rooms which are spacious and clean. Breakfast which was included was very good and the pub does reasonable meals in the evening. Large car parks front... More

visiting family stayed here for 2 nights in May and found accommodation fine. Two lots of stairs to negotiate to bedrooms. Not suitable for people with disabilities as no lift. Clean and neat rooms. Prices seem variable and breakfast was good and included in price. Located on the River Trent at Gunthorpe with ample parking. Restaurant meals only average and... More

We just needed a one night stay close to the National Watersport centre. The Unicorn was perfect for our needs, but would actually be a really great base for a longer stay. Check-in was friendly and efficient, the room was really large and a nice little touch of some bottles of water provided. We ate in the restaurant, food was... More

Dear Mr Feeney, Can I just start by again apologising for the unacceptable outcomes that occured on the morning of Sunday 19th May. Thou never perfect this is not, in any way, a true indication of how the business at the Unicorn Hotel is normally run. I will also point out again that the alarm you heard, was not the... More

Found the staff very friendly and accomodating. Rooms spacious and beds very comfortable. Nice location beside the river and lots of nice walks. Our visit was an emergency as our mother was very ill and passed away whilst there. The compassion and kindness shown us by the manageress and staff was exceptional helping our stay more bearable. We have visited... More

Went to this pub on Easter Sunday, didn't stay at the hotel but went for food and ordered the Sunday Lunch with chicken (on the bone) unfortunately the chicken was tough and pink inside, definitely not cooked properly. Once complained to the young blonde waitress she insisted it was cooked properly but didn't offer to change it. Also one of... More

Enjoyed our stay at the Unicorn. The location is idyllic, with great walks along the river Trent. Quiet location, friendly staff, comfortable room. Although based in a busy pub, it was perfectly quiet in our room (17).

We booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding at Woodborugh Hall. The setting is lovely facing the river, with river cruises. The hotel and pub was very nice, the receptionist wasn't over friendly when we checked in but polite enough. Our room was lovely with a very comfy bed big fluffy pillows, very clean bright and quiet. Bathroom... More

Stayed at this hotel last Sunday with my son and his family en route from visiting family in Lincoln to CenterParcs in Nottingham and couldn't have picked a better location. Incredibly comfortable beds and large bedrooms. Best showers I have had in comparable hotels and modern fittings and tiles in the bathrooms. Extremely helpful staff and very child friendly. Ate...
