This is a nice, modern, small family-owned hotel located in the hill town of Tholaria above the small port of Aigiali. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Our room was average-sized, very clean, and very comfortable. We had a small balcony overlooking the hills, large enough for two chairs and a small table (and a clothesline, which was useful). There is... More

We came here for 3 days and we stayed nine! Beautiful room with modern bathroom, enclosed shower, great mattresses, and great breeze through the room! The AC worked greatly like everything else. We are coming back to this hotel and island. The food was fantastic, home cooking by kyria Eirini, beautifully tasting surprises every day. We ate at the hotel... More

The hotel has a nice view to the hilly landscape of Amorgós. It lies in a nice picturesque village in the hills that can be used as starting point for walks in the hitch-hiking path around the island. The staff was nice and very helpful, trying their best to help. The breakfast was good and one has a relatively good... More

After 6 days on another island where we had had a near-perfect experience, we soon got used to the differences, and are not sure now which was the best! The Vigla hotel is in the village of Tholaria, high above the port of Aegiali (which is at Ormos). The owners fetch you from Ormos in their mini-bus, and there is... More

hotel run by a Nice familie. Bert friendly and helpfull. Great breakfast. Beautifull swmmingpool. Very nice walks in de surroundings. Tholaria above the port of Aegiali is a village with several good taverns. In Viglia hotel the meals are also very good , traditional Greek cooking.

This hotel is situated high up in the mountains of Amorgos in a little village called Tholaria, population approx. 230. and quite isolated. The hotel is very comfortable and clean and the family who own it are friendly and helpful. There is a beautiful swimming pool, outdoor bar and seating around the pool. We were picked up from the ferry... More

This is a fantastic hotel in a beautiful unspoilt village, on a beautiful unspoilt island. I can't really add much more, we just loved our stay here. Probably our favourite hotel (and island) on any of the 15 we have visited. You must visit the monastery of Hozoviotissa, which is totally amazing.

We stayed at Vigla hotel more than two years ago, in July 2012, but I still remember it very fondly - and we will definitely go back, to this lovely hotel and amazing Amorgos. The surroundings of Tholaria village are perfect for shorter and longer nature walks. Bits of the track to Hozoviotissa can be challenging - we went out... More

Hotel Vigla is a family owned and operated hotel in the traditional Greek village of Tholaria, on the island of Amorgos. The owner lived in the USA for some years, so the hotel is a blend of traditional Greek culture and hospitality with western professionalism and standards. Our room (no 13) had wonderful views over the valley , down to... More
