It was with some trepidation, having read previous reviews, that I telephoned for a booking at the Durbyfield. However I was pleasantly surprised by the warm feeling I got from my initial contact. However on arrival at Easter, the reviews of poor accommodation proved correct. The building isn't just tired, it was fast asleep and snoring. The corridors dark with... More

I always enjoy staying at the Durbyfield. I stay twice a year and I find it a home from home. I have met some new friends since staying here and I find the staff are nice and friendly. I would recommend staying here as it's a two minute walk to the beach. Also I enjoy the breakfast and find I... More

Typical UK seaside hotel old worn out scruffy fixtures and fittings, Smallest double bed I've ever seen, however the shower closet and toilet were even smaller. I wish I had walked away rather than given it a go. The scruffy worn out entrance carpet told me what is was going to be like. The bar area is small and worn... More

We are very sorry that Robert did not enjoy his stay with us but must admit to being suprised by what he says. He rang quite late to request accomodation for Easter weekend and was told that the only room available was a standard double with small en suite shower room. He agreed to take it knowing of what it... More

Only used the pub for a late lunch. It is extremely small/cosy inside and most definitely a regulars joint, which I don't say in a negative way, just a tiny bit awkward as it wasn't completely clear whether we sit in the pub side or the dining room or whether anyone even noticed we were there at first. HOWEVER, once... More

Not sure I should be telling others about this bar as it's small and cosy as a bar should be and if it gets too busy there won't be room for for us that appreciate good tasty and value for money food. Took 2 old friends in on Saturday lunch time my wife and I shared a tuna sandwich, our... More

A Guest House within a local pub. Durbeyfield, though being one of the cheaper places to stay in West Bay gave a warm welcome and friendly West Country staff. Rooms are clean and basic, but deliver what is needed in a B&B (Bed, Bath & Breakfast) Look carefully for the local notices pinned around the room ( Only tun this... More

Our experience nowhere near as bad as some of the reviews although I can see it could have been. On the positive side: Our bedroom was at top of building and was clean with equally clean shower and bath. Tea and coffee etc. Breakfast was great although you need to order the night before! On the negative front: really grubby... More

We had a stay at this B&B last week and we must say we were very disappointed . On arrival we walked into what we thought was somebodies front living room , It was very dark and very dated . We were taken up stairs to are room on the first floor . Again are first impression was how dated... More

We would like to thank this guest for taking time to submit this review but are very surprised with its content as this guest was given the opportunity to see and approve the room before proceeding with the booking. All of our superior rooms were booked and therefore the only room that was available was a budget room still to... More

I agree with previous reviews that this B&B needs a new cleaner and much T.L.C. The stairs going up to the rooms were really dirty as was the floor in the bedroom, I stood on something gunky in the carpet and had to wear shoes in the room after that. There were dirty handprints on the walls and cracks in... More
