My wife and I spent three wonderful nights staying at La Locanda and the experience made us fall in love with Tuscany. The owner, Guido, gave a very warm welcome on arrival and could not have been more helpful throughout our stay with great wine tasting and restaurant recommendations including arranging reservations for us. The views from the villa are... More

La Locanda is our favourite Tuscan hideaway. Endless views, serene atmosphere and a fabulous host. We wouldn't stay anywhere else - the quality of the accommodation is excellent and it's the perfect base for exploring the Chianti region. Guido is the charming and sincere owner and he will do anything he can to ensure you have the best possible stay... More

We vowed to return to this magical place we visited 3 summers ago and are thrilled to report it's still every bit as superb and wonderful as we remembered it to be. In a restored farmhouse surrounded by lavender, high in the Chianti hills with stellar views of the medieval village of Volpaia, endless vineyards, olive orchards and mountains in... More

La Locanda is a quintessential Tuscan gem in the Chianti region. Part of the fun is finding it - traveling through the quaint town of Volpaia and up the long gravelly road to the top of the mountain where La Locada is located. We saw lots of wildlife along the way (wild boar, deer, porcupine). Guido was there to greet... More

We have just returned from our best visit ever to La Locanda – a tranquil and exceptionally well-appointed residence with a stunning view of the hilltop village of Volpaia. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable, with efficient air-conditioning and crisp linen, and those with balconies take full advantage of the wonderful scenery. The charming host, Guido Bevilacqua, serves a delicious breakfast... More

We felt at home immediately, and stayed for five wonderful days. I know it has been said before, but this is a really relaxing place to visit. All Guido's recommendations were superb, from restaurants to travel routes - he is a natural host. This is a remote and beautiful place, and lives on in our memories now that we have... More

The property is simply unbelievable, and the service takes the whole experience to a new level. True gem with world-class boutique facilities, restaurant, and overall quality. We'll be back again soon.

The place, the view, our host Guido, all superb! Just what we thought rural Tuscany should be. Very relaxing. Guido was most helpful in many ways. Comfortable sitting room with a great selection of books to relax with. Well-stocked honor bar in the main house. Infinity pool overlooking rolling valley and distant mountain views and nearby town of Volpaia.

With its quiet setting overlooking the Chianti countryside, gracious host, Guido, and beautiful country inn accommodation, La Locada was the perfect place for my husband and me to begin and end each day of our Chianti experiences. The inn is centrally located for day trips throughout the Chianti winery area. We loved everything about it and were particularly impressed with... More

There cannot be anywhere more beautiful than the location of La Locanda. Guido is a most gracious and welcoming host at his beautiful hotel. The views are unparalleled, the rooms spacious and well appointed and Guido's warmth and attention make one feel comfortable and at home. A feeling of peace and at one with nature pervades.
