Volpaia is a fantastic little tiny town situated in an ancient castle in the middle of a picturesque valley. Castello di Volpaia has only four rooms as far as i remember, all situated in the castle apartments. The apartmenthad a bedroom, kitchen, sitting-room and a bathroom. The place was so cosy and charmig! the air there was fantastically fresh. and... More

We have traveled this area, multiple times, rented a villa in Radda, stayed in a 5 star hotel, but this time we decided to stay in Volpaia. The charm of this small medieval town, the warmth of the local population, the views from every direction, the cafe and croissants and food at Bar Ucci, the winery, the dinner at La... More

It is a good villa with excellent views of Volpaia. The outside deck is the best part of the villa. The kitchen is also very good. The only down side is the distance to any grocery store. With 10 of us we needed stuff quite often and had to drive 15 mins min to get to a COOP

Having only been on winery tours in the U.S. prior to visiting Castello di Volpaia, we were fascinated by the efforts made to utilize the space of this medieval castle as a winery. Our guide, Alessandra, was exceptional in explaining the history of the winery and leading a tasting at the conclusion of the tour. She also speaks very good... More

The village of Volpaia is a gem located in the hills where guests are allowed to walk through vineyards and olive groves. We plan to return for the cooking class and tour of the winery. Our apartment was wonderful. There is a small restaurant just down a slope where we had coffee each morning and bought fresh bread for a... More

We rented a house with 3 large bedrooms with its own bath at the back of an old church that is no longer used as such. We had our own private pool with a view. A spacious stand alone building by the pool that can be used. The 2 bathrooms (with a tub) above were very spacious the size of... More

Castello di Volpaia is a lovely destination in the Chianti region of Tuscany. Four of us spent two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We rented an apartment in the renovated historic part of the small town. We took the winery tour, which I highly recommend. It is a bit pricey unless you stay on site in one of the castello... More

Having visited Volpaia on previous visits to Tuscany, we decided to stay in one of the apartments for 3 nights this time, in May 2013. Our stay was marred by shocking weather, but the central heating worked well and we were as warm as toast. The apartments are some what rustic in style, befitting the ancient village of Volpaia, but... More

My husband, myself, and our adult children/spouses spent a week at Casavecchia, a villa that sleeps 8. It was a 4-bedroom, 4.5-bath restored farmhouse with fabulous views across the wine estate from a wonderful terrace that we frequented often. The bathrooms were very nicely upgraded and 2 of the bedrooms were medium size with 2 large sized. The best thing... More
