The place has a real sense of history and is an active vinyard and winery. The accommodation is spread through many buildings; ours being in one of the oldest parts of the property and had real character and was blissfully cool. We didn't manage to take in a wine tour but several other guests had camped out and were working... More

We recently spent 5 nights at Castelvecchi as a wonderful base to explore Tuscany. It's a wonderful old style building, decorated with lots of antiques and old fashioned furniture. The surroundings are stunning and a delight to wake up to each morning. The room we stayed in was a good size with an equally large bathroom (in the main building).... More

We returned here having visited last year and it is just as wonderful but with even more improvements. We received such a friendly welcome back from Barbara who told us they had now installed vending machines so drinks and snacks could be purchased when the main restaurant was closed and we were impressed with the choice. Barbara also showed us... More

We celebrated our anniversary at Fattoria Castelvecchi with our family and friends and stayed there for 3nights. We all had an amazing time with delicious food and wines. Anna, Fabio and Michele created our anniversary dinner with so much love. Food and decoration were excellent and Michele`s cake was the highlight! We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and Barbara and the... More

My wife and I spent two days at Castelvecchi in April 2014. It was our wedding anniversary and we wanted to stay in a very special place. This was the place!! Outstanding grounds and facilities. Breathtaking views and landscape. Superior service from the moment you sign in until you depart. We greatly enjoyed the personal winery tour and of course... More

We spent a night at Castlevecchi having received a recommendation from friends who stayed last year to celebrate a birthday. The location is not far from Radda di Chianti and the surrounding views are beautiful. Sitting in the beautiful garden is very relaxing and a perfect spot to sit and enjoy a wine or two. The surrounding views of the... More

The position is incredible and the surrounding landscape is truly amazing. The fattoria is made of beautiful historical buildings restored respecting their original features (but the bathrooms should be renewed). The restaurant was a terrible surprise: the quality of the food is poor when compared with the delicious dishes that one finds in Tuscany's osterias - it was too salty... More

Cannot comment on cost or value for money as it was arranged by a tour and included in the price. I was part of a group staying here in mid May. The Place just blew us away when we arrived and the courtyard in the middle, where you can sit outside and have a drink was fabulous. Like several other... More

We celebrated our wedding at Fattoria Castelvecchi last July and it was Incredible. This was truly a dream wedding in the Tuscan hillside, with delicious Foods and wines - all guests were given a tour of the wine cellar during the stay there, the kids played in the pool during the daytime, and Castelvecchi has a very relaxed atmosphere where... We were after a simple self-catering holiday in Tuscany, so my husband and I were slightly amazed when we arrived at Castelvecchi. Located in the vineyard-covered Tuscan hills, the apartments themselves are in gorgeous old converted stone buildings, set in beautiful gardens. We rented one of the apartments surrounding the courtyard overlooking the restaurant. What was so brilliant was that... More
