We had a family bedroom, equipped with three single beds. It was on a corner, with two windows, and nice and bright. The soft furnishings were a bit dated, and the handle had broken off the wardrobe door, but everything was clean and tidy. The en-suite was small, but adequate, with toilet, wash-hand basin and shower cubicle. The room was... More

Wihilst in a nice location the bedrooms are a serious let down. Dated would be an understatement with old fashioned and tired fixtures and fittings, a sink at the end of the bed, thread bare and damaged carpets, awful stained lino in the bathrooms. You get the picture. Most rooms seem to have single beds which is not great these... More

This is a small little hotel, with neat little rooms, sitting in a beautiful little town. The hotel staff are friendly, but there was one guy that stood out by far. I believe he was the owner (Bryan maybe?), but he also acted as receptionist, waiter, chef, tourist guide, bell boy - you name it. His customer service was probably... More

Just stayed at Meldrums for 4 nights as we were playing golf at St Andrews and some other local courses, rooms clean and tidy, breakfasts were excellent and we enjoyed excellent evening meals and drinks downstairs in the restaraunt and bar. Lovely atmosphere, well treated by Carlos , Suzy and Michelle, fine selection of whiskeys. Location is great for golfing... More

I've stayed at Meldrums twice while at St. Andrews for golf. The village of Ceres, where Meldrums is located, is 5-6 miles out in the country, an easy drive from town. Meldrums, an old country inn, is a pleasant, much cheaper alternative to some of the urban lodgings, where, especially during high season, demand drives up prices. This place has... More

I've been coming here, on and off, for 30 years. Today's my 40th birthday and the meal we've just had was excellent. The food and service is at its best these days and we look forward to a Meldrums meal whenever we head North to Scotland. p.s. Thank you for the cake!

Met up for a family pre-Christmas get together & Meldrums seemed like a good location for a village walk and some pub grub. It was peeing down so it ended up with just the food, however it was worth the drive! The food is certainly a cut above the usual bar offering. There is a wide selection of dishes from... More

On the whole, the meal we had was good but I do not think the hotel deals fairly with its customers regarding the "specials". The waitress reeled off the specials of the day without the prices of the dishes. Under the circumstances, customers are loath to ask the prices and, be warned, these specials are expensive. The restaurant should do... More

We hadnt visited for quite a while and didnt realise that it had changed hands 18 months ago . If you are expecting the good home cooked meal selection at reasonable prices then you are in for a shock as the new owners have taken the menu upmarket along with the prices . The service was good and no complaints... More
