Four of us ate here on Saturday 20th September. It was a FABULOUS experience from start to finish. We arrived at 8.20 for a 8.45 booking so we sat in the bar for a couple of drinks. Barman very friendly and chatty as he brought drinks to the table. Our server CARLOS came over with the menus and explained the... More

We visited very last minute at the weekend after having a bit of a disaster elsewhere. We arrived nearing the end of their evening service but they couldn't have been nicer. We were sat in the bar area and definitely didnt feel rushed. The food was lovely, I had sizzling prawns to start with and I can definitely recommend them.... More

We have very good friends who live in Ceres, visiting them at least once a year since 2003. We always pop into Meldrums and have found it to be the best, friendliest inn in Ceres. Dog friendly with equally friendly staff. This August we were visiting Ceres and our friends treated us to an evening meal at Meldrums. I was... More

Nice Place , Delicious food , Friendly & Pleasant Staff. We will visit here again . We enjoyed nicely cooked food with excellent explaination of the various foods available. Direct telephone contact to Eileen made us possible to book the room & to enjoy our stay here.

The owners are working on the rooms, need a bit more work and things like bedside lights. Restaurant busy night we were there, food good but perhaps a bit expensive and wine expensive as well. Excellent breakfast and attentive staff.

We had a family bedroom, equipped with three single beds. It was on a corner, with two windows, and nice and bright. The soft furnishings were a bit dated, and the handle had broken off the wardrobe door, but everything was clean and tidy. The en-suite was small, but adequate, with toilet, wash-hand basin and shower cubicle. The room was... More

Wihilst in a nice location the bedrooms are a serious let down. Dated would be an understatement with old fashioned and tired fixtures and fittings, a sink at the end of the bed, thread bare and damaged carpets, awful stained lino in the bathrooms. You get the picture. Most rooms seem to have single beds which is not great these... More

This is a small little hotel, with neat little rooms, sitting in a beautiful little town. The hotel staff are friendly, but there was one guy that stood out by far. I believe he was the owner (Bryan maybe?), but he also acted as receptionist, waiter, chef, tourist guide, bell boy - you name it. His customer service was probably... More

Just stayed at Meldrums for 4 nights as we were playing golf at St Andrews and some other local courses, rooms clean and tidy, breakfasts were excellent and we enjoyed excellent evening meals and drinks downstairs in the restaraunt and bar. Lovely atmosphere, well treated by Carlos , Suzy and Michelle, fine selection of whiskeys. Location is great for golfing... More

I've stayed at Meldrums twice while at St. Andrews for golf. The village of Ceres, where Meldrums is located, is 5-6 miles out in the country, an easy drive from town. Meldrums, an old country inn, is a pleasant, much cheaper alternative to some of the urban lodgings, where, especially during high season, demand drives up prices. This place has... More
