I absolutely loved this hotel - it was stylish and beautiful and rivalled any heritage hotel that you'd find in Europe. I stayed in a beautiful room with luxurious ensuite bathroom - immaculately clean and beautifully presented. I didn't have a balcony but my friend in the room next door who did allowed me to climb out of my window... More

Khaplu Palace defies imagination. It is hard to imagine a luxury retreat in one of the world's most remote areas. The logistical challenges are mostly matched by appealing to the local community for daily life commodities. Nevertheless, the historical Palace rooms offer every comfort possible, whereas the Residence contains charming state-of-the-art rooms. The restaurant is excellent, as is the service.... More

The Khaplu Palace is a wonderful work of restoration of an early 19th century fort. The rooms in the fort are tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. The Rani Suite is absolutely gorgeous with a balcony and lounging room, the ceiling of which is made entirely with carved wood. As remote as Khaplu is, this boutique hotel features modern amenities which... More

This is a beautiful place and the hotel is an excellent restoration of the 800 yrs old fort. The staff was extra ordinarily friendly and helpful. The chef at the restaurant is a master. Must stay plaxe.......

Khaplu is three hour drive away from Shigar. The drive along the a river which meets the Indus is simply spectacular. The Khaplu town itself is surrounded by breath-taking landscape. Drink water from natural springs instead of commercially bottled water. All kind of Fruit trees are in abundance. People are friendly and surroundings are a must for a visitor.

After spending a couple of days in Shigar our "group" set off for Khaplu where we stayed at another Serena property, the Khaplu Palace. The Palace is larger than the Fort in Shigar but in respect of service and amenities is similar to the Shigar Fort. The staff is efficient and obliging and in terms of food, Khaplu has the... More

It was an incredible experience visiting and staying at Khaplu. I would love to go there again. It has wealth of peace and serenity. Such a well managed, well organized place that I felt like a "Rani" who was being served, cared for. The food is excellent, unforgettable taste, elegantly presented. The best cuisine is made of local materials. Very... More

As a family with four children it is not always easy to find a place with something for everyone: Khaplu palace, his exceptional manager, and dedicated staff did it! Not only the writer in our family found the perfect writing retreat, but we went horse riding up to the yaks' pastures at about 3000 mt., visited the local weaving centres,... More

It is without doubt one of the most incredible places I have ever stayed Really nice and comfortable room and great setting for exploring the area. Rooms are just perfect, a good balance between luxury and comfort. The rooms have beautiful decorations with ancient parquet floors and woodwork on the walls. Bathroom is very nuce and modern with a spacey... More

A three hour drive from Skardu leads you to one of the most beautifully restored palaces, converted into a hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a friendly and helpful staff that make you feel at home within two days. The orchard is full of fruit laden trees where one can sit and relax while drinking coffee and tea.... More
