We stopped in at the Guesthouse hoping for a bite to eat. THe kitchen had already closed (the bright nights had our times mixed up!) But they still made us yummy pancakes and coffee! Very friendly service!

The location is very good for tours in Faroer. Quiet and beautiful scenery. The highest mountain with stunning view on the islands is just a view kilometers away. We stayed in the Annex building, so no noise from other rooms, but also no Wifi. Dinner was one day excellent local food (buffet), the other day ok cantine food. The staff... More

Very nice place to stay. The host and his staff is very nice and smiling all the time. Breakfeast buffet is good and dinner was like if Mum has cooked it :) Location is very good with a beautiful view on the village and the sea.

This is the second time I have stayed at this guesthouse in the beautiful little village of Gjógv. Both times it has been a relatively pleasant experience and the owner/manager has been very obliging. The guesthouse has a range of very different accommodation styles. Prospective guests should be forewarned and choose carefully. I booked the 'Viking style accommodation', which consists... More

We stayed here for 5 nights over our wedding anniversary, and the village was probably our favourite in the Faroes - although small, there was always something happening (unlike other villages, which sometimes felt a bit deserted!) and it had a real feeling of "life" about it. The owner, Eirik, is a great host and the girls serving the food... More

The location is very nice. There is absolutely nothing to do in the town (is 25 inhabitants calles a town?) besides the guesthouse, the gorge it is called after and of course the surrounding nature. We rented a car and had Gjaardagur as a base for 3 days instead of staying in Torshavn. A good choice after my opinion. The... More

On the plus side, the location is beautiful and what's more is close to Funningur, just as beautiful, with Disney-like colourful houses in a range of bright colours scattered between mountains and the sea. Must be great for hiking, which is not something we do though we did take a couple of shorter walks around the villages. Our superior room-... More

We stayed 2 nights during a 3 night stopover in the Faroes on the way by ferry to Iceland. It provided an excellent base from which to explore some of the remoter parts. Room accommodation was fairly basic and functional, but comfortable enough. Self service breakfast was continental style with reasonable choice. Dinner was 2 course without choice, but tasty... More

We were booked into this guesthouse for two nights because the area is so wonderful. Arrived when it was pouring rain out and struggled into the reception only to find out our room was in the annex, a building above the guesthouse with a view to the fields behind it. OK, struggled back to the car with our bags and... More

We had the superior bedroom in the annex (which is the building adjacent to the main building). The views in the village are superb. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. If you happen to wake up at sun rise, it is beautiful to hear absolute pin-drop silence in such a tranquil environment. The drive to the village is a... More
