My husband and I stayed here for 1 night. The staff were very friendly and the room was pretty basic, but cozy. Staying here reminded me of a sleep away camp as a child. They served dinner to all the guests at once, no exceptions. Plus, you don't get a dining option. The night we were there, it was lamb.... More

Gjogy is a lovely village in the north and we did not regret not staying in Torshavn. Getting to Gjogv, as others have mentioned, was not easy as it located on the other side of the highest mountain on the island, so you basically are drive on the zig-zag roads, but the scenery was also lovely. I immediately fell in... More

Situated in the beautiful village of Gjogv, the guesthouse offers a good respite from the drive from other villages. Check with the staff for the hike along the cliffs on the west which gives a panoramic view of the village and the ocean. Free breakfast was included in the price of the accommodation, albeit basic (cereals with milk/yogurt and juices,... More

We stopped here on a day tour of norther Esturoy. The guest house is beautiful, with lots of exposed woodwork, and a traditional sod roof. They prepared pancakes with rhubarb preserves, and hot coffee, very good! I'd to return, and stay here.

We stayed in the building separate from the main hotel. The room was very comfortable, spacious and private. The owner was really friendly and the food delicious (and interesting, like the whale blubber!). The village of Gjógv is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. We drove around quite a bit and went to other villages and to Tórshavn as well, but in... More

This is the only place you can stay at at Gjogv - a lovely village - and if only for that purpose it is very well worth it. It is however worth to keep in mind that this is only a 2-star hotel - rooms are basic and so is everything else. Your main reasoning on coming here should be... More

The hotel is near to the village of Gjógv, perhaps the most beautiful Faroese Island, which makes it great for walking and know the village and surrounding area. The hotel building, is a beautiful and a traditional building ... that seems like the Swiss chalets. The staff is very friendly and available. The restaurant is very good, on Sunday´s there... More

This beautiful guesthouse is away from the capital Torshavn. Very comfortable rooms with stunning views all around. We stayed in the annex which I would recommend. No local shops or restaurants in the area, but the guesthouse will cook you a nice meal in the evening (or lunch time) if you pre order. You will need a car to reach... More

During a two night stay in Gjogv, I was lucky enough to get a room in the Gjaargardur guesthouse annex. Spacious, clean bedroom with en suite wet room - best night's sleep in ages! Very friendly and helpful staff. Free WiFi - reliable and fast.

We were in the Annexe which was very comfortable and with spectacular views over the bay. The drive to Gjogv is incredible - hairpin bends and steep inclines. The food at the Guesthouse is simple - there is a limited choice but what there was was excellent. Alcohol is available if required. The Guesthouse has a small Gift Shop which... More
