During a two night stay in Gjogv, I was lucky enough to get a room in the Gjaargardur guesthouse annex. Spacious, clean bedroom with en suite wet room - best night's sleep in ages! Very friendly and helpful staff. Free WiFi - reliable and fast.

We were in the Annexe which was very comfortable and with spectacular views over the bay. The drive to Gjogv is incredible - hairpin bends and steep inclines. The food at the Guesthouse is simple - there is a limited choice but what there was was excellent. Alcohol is available if required. The Guesthouse has a small Gift Shop which... More

The cafe is a great lunch stop. Don't be dissuaded by the small menu. Everything is excellently prepared. Walk off lunch with a hike and return for homemade cake with lovingly made creme fraiche and black coffee. Your heart will skip a beat, and your mind won't forget.

What a place, what an experience! No wonder it is often fully booked. We loved the village, Gjogv, in the North of the Island Estyroy, which is very picturesque and a good starting point for walks in the surroundings. It is quite a climb up to the hill but worth the spectacular view. Also do not miss the cliff (walk)... More

Wow ..... Do I really have to use a minimum of 200 characters? Stayed in the annex, spotlessly clean, comfortable, massive single beds (twin room 2 - 7). Words cannot say - you must go.... The Kalstoy island sunset is to be seen in all of its glory.

The road to Gjogv is spectacularly scenic. Yes scary in places but I found it OK even though I was still adjusting to changing gear with my right hand! We were in the annex (A12) with lovely views of both the hills and the harbour. There is a small car park at the same level as the annex which saved... More

The village, Gjogv, is charming with all it's painted houses, the road to it is exciting and challenging; you have to have a head for heights!! Buses/ taxis are also available to transport you there, if you don't feel you can drive. You come to this turfed-roof guesthouse as you come into the village. It used to be a hostel... More

I stayed here 6 years ago and the hotel, service and food were all excellent. I just returned for another visit and the hotel and service are still excellent, but the food has degraded a lot. Since there are no other options for food in Gjogv you are stuck. Too bad it has gone downhill. The location is one of... More

We spent two nights in this guesthouse. The staff was pleasant and extremely helpful. They helped us to modify our plans to suit the low clouds that were in the area on the second day of our visit. The guesthouse offers dinner to its guests. There is only one choice but the meals were good and the service was efficient.... More

We stayed three nights at the guest house within the older part. We got a room with a wonderful view across the little village. The two beds were really good, but set apart at each side of the wall. The bath room in the main building is relatively small, and you need to know how to move around. It reminded... More
