Magical road and scenery on the way to this hotel. Nice and modern rooms, but nothing extraordinarily except wonderful views outside the hotel. Acceptable breakfast and lunch/dinner. Nice and helpful staff. We were able to borrow a tumble drier for free.

Tour group in Faroe Islands stopped here for a lunch. With 11,000 tourists on these islands for the Solar Eclipse March 20, all your busses, restaurants, accomodations were fully booked. So we had 45 minutes for lunch on a day long driving tour. As we sat down, the plates, silverwarr, and coffee/tea/water were already on the table. After eating, there... More

Staying at Gjáargarður is a great experience. The hosts are very personal and professional at the same time making your stay really comfortable. The food is nice - a great part of it home-made. The place is recommended for all sorts of travellers - large groups, backpackers or just a couple away for the weekend. And the surroundings are of... More

We stayed 2 nights in the annexe-I think these were the superior rooms- and were very comfortable. The breakfast was very good as were the evening meals. Service was impeccable. The little commune is fascinating, and in a stunningly beautiful location.

Every visitor to the Faroe Islands needs to stay here... We stayed in the Alcoves and it was fantastic.. There was places to put our bags etc in a rollaway drawer and then the bed is in a little alcove that has sliding doors.. When in the alcove it is very comfy and has a window in the roof that... Stayed for two nights at the annex (which I suppose is the hotel part of this guesthouse). The landscape in Gjogv is very lovely and the weather couldn't have been better (which of course made the stay even more perfect). Breakfast ok with Faroese standards. Dinner was more or less the same price as other guesthouses and tasted good. They... More

just visited the Faroes, beautiful and remote. Was supposed to stay in this hotel/guesthouse. Unfortunately the road up to the place is ridiculous. It may be ok for people that are used to driving in (my opinion) hazardous road conditions (very narrow with winding hairpin bends, no barriers and still going up and up). But I was not, after suffering... More

We stayed in the alcove. First we thought, it's so small, but it is big enough and very cosy. Very friendly people. We had a nice stay, diner was very good. The surroundings are amazing. We hiked up to the mountain and the sight was incredible.

The setting for the guesthouse is superb. The views of the sea, the village of Gjogv and the sea were stunning. Fjord cliff lines, mountains and rural life are all visible from the rooms. The evening meals, a set menu, were simple but very good. The rooms were clean with great bathroom facilities. My only complaint would be that the... More

We stopped in at the Guesthouse hoping for a bite to eat. THe kitchen had already closed (the bright nights had our times mixed up!) But they still made us yummy pancakes and coffee! Very friendly service!
