Calm,Peaceful environment. Friendly staff and superb service. We had our own plunge pool and it was great. In the morning, while cycling, we saw all these animals lazing around and it was incredible. The food is tasteful and elegant. We highly recommend this hotel for demanding travelers looking for a exclusive hotel while visiting Anuradhapura area.

Thank you to the staff at Ulagalla for a fantastic stay . A great place to stay. The bungalows were superb, spacious, light and airy with our own plunge pool. The bird life including wild peacocks was incredible, let alone the hoards of monkeys .We were there in the dry season and the environs were wonderful but I can imagine... More

From the moment you enter to ring a bell and light a lamp the place is totally relaxing it's an eco resort with no loss of comfort or quality only 20 chalets in 60 acres gives privacy.i was feeling that good i rode a bike for the first time in 35 yrs around resort however also took full advantage of... Ulagalla offered us the much needed hideaway time from busy CMB lifestyle. It was a very calm drive to Ulagalla and necessary direction boards are given from the main road. Reception was very quick, exactly what we wanted. Very engaging WOW introduction – ringing bells to announce that we have stepped in to premises. We were asked to light the... More

From monkeys outside our windows, to the staff celebrating a Birthday in our family, we felt like this place was magical. The bungalows are private and luxurious. The staff was so kind and loving towards our daughter too and we were so grateful. Everyone, from the drivers to the front desk staff and kitchen staff went above and beyond every... More

This was probably one if the loveliest places I have ever stayed. The rooms are located in a 58 acre land, which is situated around the main building "The Wallawa" The architecture in the main building is phenomenal and the hospitality of the service staff was also very good. Also there are few out-door activities. The best part is you... More

Stayed at Ulagalla Resort for a couple of nights and it was really difficult to leave at the end of it since we had totally fallen in love with the place.. After a long journey from Colombo, the hotel was everything we needed and so much more. The check in was fast and smooth and the staff were extremely courteous... More

This was probably one if the loveliest places I have ever stayed. Beautifully designed, idyllic setting with friendly but impeccable service. The food was wonderful - organic and locally sourced. I enjoyed an amazing local cycle trip arranged by the hotel. It was the highlight of my whole trip - with a fascinating local guide, we met a local farming... More

This is undoubtedly one of the most luxurious resorts in Sri Lanka. The main building is a ‘Wallauwa’; which gives a classic and a traditional hotel atmosphere as you enter. But the chalets are completely different with hi-tech fittings and equipment. The most interesting part for us was the welcome. The ritual they do at the entrance with the bells... More

This review is based on a 2 week stay, late September 2014. We arrived after a long flight and a long drive from Columbo to the resort, arriving at about 11am. The arrival is a little involving (as you might expect from high end resorts) where you are asked to light an oil candle and ring the arrival bells. This... More
