A colleague and I booked this hotel last minute for a conference in Basingstoke and so got a good deal. The staff are very friendly and attentive, evening meal and breakfast had a good choice and were very nice. If you've got more money than me and enjoy a good bottle of wine then judging by the list you wouldn't... More

We booked into as it was close to Grange Park and weren't disappointed. The room was well furnished and comfortable and the selection of wines and ales were great. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was first rate!

Maybe we were unlucky to be eating on such a busy weeknight, maybe the chef was on a night off, maybe the kitchen staff were not in the best mood, but whatever, we still paid the price that we would have done if there is such a thing as a "good" night at the Woolpack. The Pub is pleasant outside... More

Two friends and I have been to the Woolpack three times in the last 2 months for lunch, the first two times were fine, but last Tuesday we were told that there was a new chef and ciabattas were not available, we were given "Thin" sandwiches which were more bread than filling, which however were OK, but three beers and... An all round fabulous experience. my wife and I decided to stay here on a whim after finding it through lastminute.com and immediately extended for an extra night as soon as we walked in. The staff were excellent and very friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant both nights and the food is excellent (the chef has apparently only been... More

We found this on a late booking site, booked for one night and made it two with a couple of minutes of walking thru the door. The food is superb the only problem is chosing what to have I need about 10 days to work my way thru the small but exquisite menu. Last night was mixed grill, the local... More

Decided to try to Woolpack as it had been recommended many times by a friend. Bank holiday monday many of our local preferences were either closed or full. So we book a punt and booked a table. It was very quiet only one other table being served. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. Menu a tad disapointing and as it was... More

We stayed one night and we absolutely loved the Woolpack. The rooms are in a converted building next to the pub and we really liked the furnishings, exposed brickwork, fabulously large bathtub, real coffee on the drinks tray. Great nights sleep (despite squeaky floors from guest room above but this didn't disturb our sleep). Breakfast served at a civilised 09:00-10:30... More

Thank you so much for your kind review. We have found that breakfast is a very popular option for people at the moment, especially considering this lovely weather means that you can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and views over the neighboring farms with a cup of freshly brewed espresso. We charge a standard £12.50 per person for breakfast,... More

My wife and I with my parents went to The Woolpack for a two night midweek break. We were not disappointed. I will agree with some earlier comments about the thin walls in the rooms. I can imagine it may annoy some people but it didn't really effect our visit as we stayed next to each other. Yes you can... More

Thank you so much for your kind and thorough review of the Woolpack. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay enough to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner with us! We are aware of the thin walls, and although I know you said it didn't disturb you I would like to appologise anyway, unfortunately being an old converted stable... More
