Amazing place, great hospitality! Arrived hoping for something special following restless overnight stay at pub down the road, and it certainly delivered. Booked at short notice (<24 hours previously) yet were still able to get beautiful rooms at good value. Very warm and personable welcome. Quiet and homely sitting room and stunning wood panelled bar with log fires. Food and... More

Our 3rd visit to this special hotel. A warm welcome followed by complimentary Grasmere gingerbread, a good way to begin our short break! Our room was large, comfortable, clean and well equipped, although with not the best of views. Our en suite was also very good. The public areas of the hotel are attractively decorated and very comfortable with interesting... More

Had lunch, evening meal and overnight stay yesterday and it was a very relaxing experience. The food was delicious, both the salads at lunch and the venison for the evening meal. The Inn is very cosy, very stylish in a country house way with lots of artefacts to ponder on. Fresh flowers everywhere and magazines to read in the sumptuous... More

Oh dear our much needed break away in the Lakes was not quite what we had planned . A call in advance of our stay to check out conditions given the terrible weather poor Cumbria had been experiencing was handled in a brusque and off hand manner . I later put this down to perhaps the person I spoke to... More

Just got back from a very wet walk round Elterwater stopping on route at the Eltermere Inn. We stopped for a coffee and ended up staying for a light lunch. We were welcomed into the bar area with the dog which had the open fire roaring. The Inn is in a lovely setting with amazing views. We ordered a coffee... More

We stayed for 1 night at the beginning of Oct. On arrival we were offered complimentary homemade cakes and tea or coffee, we chose to have this by the lawn at the front of the hotel, the views were beautiful, and the homemade cakes were delicious, one of them was gluten free for my husband. We stayed in the Loughrigg... More

I booked this restaurant for my husbands birthday meal during our weeks stay in Elterwater, which was recommended by the cottage owners. We sat in the bar area which was busy and lively. I admit that the menu was not floating my boat as I'm not a fish lover and some of the other options I had already had elsewhere... More

Our second visit to this wonderful place. This time we decided to try the room "Willy Goodwaller" having stayed in "Lingmoor" previously . Obviously being less expensive, it was smaller and less luxurious ,but also very quaint and comfy .Would happily stay in either again . Breakfast was fabulous ,with excellent service . Evening meals were ok . A little... More

We stayed at the Eltermere Inn for three nights at the beginning of October. The hotel and its location are stunning. It is at the foot of the Langdale Pikes and looks out over Eltermere. We were in a lovely room called the Robin Ghyll which is in a converted barn set to one side of the main building, but... More
