Reading reviews for the Manita is a bit like reading about Jekyll and Hyde and it is only upon arriving at the resort that the reason becomes clear, you see there are two resorts on one plot of land, sharing an entrance way, reception and only slightly different names but very different resorts. One the Manita Resort and one the... More

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and it was beautiful, and only 50 Baht $2 aussie in a tuk tuk style car to most parts of lamai in the day and 100 Baht $4 aussie in the night. Our rooms were huge although my shower wasn't the greatest, however friends bathrooms was fine. We chose this hotel as... More

The hotel was clean and tidy, but didn't have all the bells and whistles of the more expensive hotels, for example I did not have a glassed or curtained off shower, just a free standing shower head next to the toilet, however the shower worked perfectly so no complaints here. The hotel staff were very polite and helped and gave... More

When we arrived at the grand Manita we were surprised at how quiet the place was, there were no other people to be seen. It got more busy later but it is still a very quiet resort if that is what you are after. The rooms are great, nice AC and massive beds, although the curtains are fairly light and... More

Average This small family owned restaurant is right at the beach. Our room was rather nice, but the bed was a bit hard. Food in the restaurant is good. But the beach is very small, and the sea is not so clean there. Some waitresses are not enough polite behavior.

The hotel, since the moment you arrive is a paradise. The gardens are ashtonishing, the smell of the flowers, the coulour, the path that takes you, first to the swimmingpool an then to the beach is just magic. There are a few people normally, it's a very quiet hotel. The decoration of the rooms are traditionally thai, very charming. The... More

We booked a five night stay in the Beachfront Villa with bathtub.....we could not have been happier. We had a party of 22 people travelling together for a wedding and we booked the majority of them at the Grand Manita as well. The owners were delightful and could not do enough for us. Our room was very nice, clean and... More

Reasons to stay: - Picturesque Property - Villas are fantastic (en suite bathrooms, king bed, AC, fridge) - Customer Service is outstanding - Wonderful $ value Things to keep in mind when booking: - Located on far North end of Lamai - at least 20 min walk to town - Beach near resort is much rockier than other parts of... booked my whole family into villas here and was not sure what we'd find but it was fantastic. The place has beautiful gardens, tended to by smiling staff every day. The Villas are really spacious and clean (though the open air showers do let the ants and bugs in at night). There is even a decent mini bar in the... More
