The Mauna Lani used to be a happening place, but it has apparently fallen on hard times. We go to Hawaii every two years, and still use the Mauna Lani spa. Gone is the lovely Honu Bar, the gift shops and fine art stores. The Beach Grill has shrunk and the hotel looks empty. Its probably still good if you're... More

This place was amazing. We came for our honeymoon and both of our needs were met. Perfect doesn't explain it. PROS: excellent snorkeling Delicious breakfast Fish, turtles, a ray and a shark are on site Tandem bikes Valet service (malia was amazing) CONS: hot hot pool, uncomfortably hot :/ Rocky (not Sandy) beach so no sandcastles here Can't use boogie... This beautiful hotel captures the serenity and natural environment of an undeveloped Hawaii. Located on the Kohala Coast, its lay out offers wide open spaces and pretty landscapes. The ocean view room offers views of the pretty ponds, waterfalls and flora surrounding the hotel. The Bay Terrace, where our breakfast included buffet was served fronts the large fishpond, pool and... More

Excellent accommodation, great location with beautiful golf course views. Short (15 min) walk from the beach and warm seas. Plenty of shops nearby for groceries, clothes and souvenirs. A must are the Helicopter rides (Blue Hawaiian Helicopters) to the volcanoes and around the island a short 10 min drive from the resort (complementary taxi available).

We had such a good time at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel. So much to do on the resort itself. My family of four would get up every day and plan what things to do. We would get on the bikes provided at the Valet (even a couple of Bicycles Built for Two) and then head over to play tennis,... More

This was our second time at the Mauna Lani. We stayed the first time nine years ago. The location of this property is superb and the staff exceptional. However, the property is showing wear a bit and the special little touches of a super deluxe property were missing on this trip. It felt like a good property but not a... More

Our visit to Mauna Lani in March was perfect. our two children loved exploring the surf for shells and marine life, along with the kids camp. We stayed in one of the sea view Bungalows, and I have to say it was sublime. Very spacious and exquisitely furnished.

We booked a last minute package to the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel. This was to be our second visit as we had a wonderful first visit. When we arrived, we were excited to see that the hotel was still in the same shape as we had experienced six year prior. Our room was on the 6th floor with an ocean... More

Our family just spent a couple of days at the Mauna Lani and really loved the experience. While I'm not sure the resort rises to the level of a 4.5 or 5 star resort......it is not because of the people or pride in their service. That part was truly off the charts. My complaint is more about the resort itself... More

We were here for a scientific conference. I rented a car because I don't usually like resorts that aren't right near a town-- I feel a little isolated, and I'm usually not big on resorts anyway. But this one was just fantastic, and I wish I had more time to spend there than just one week. There are two beaches... More
