We arrived on Feb. 5 and were pleasantly surprised to be greeted at the front desk with a fresh juice, little wet towels for our hands and bead leis. They also gave us a complimentary upgraded room. Our room was to be a garden but we got a room with a view over the ponds and partial ocean. Our room... More

This is my January 2016 review of Mauna Lani Bay Hotel. We sometimes come in other seasons, but we always come to Mauna Lani for two weeks in late January to celebrate our anniversary. I have posted several reviews; see them and the photos from this and prior years for more info about the hotel, snorkeling, activities, etc. We LOVE... More

May be the best spot on the Big Island in terms of natural assets. Superb beach, photo opts everywhere, fish ponds, walking paths, etc, etc. Architecture is also a superlative. But get out your wallet this place does not come cheap. Then add a $25.00 resort fee as the cherry on top.

We have an annual conference in Hawaii every January. Coming from Iowa this is the perfect time of year to get away from the cold. We have been staying at the Mauan Lani for the last three years. The hotel has a very warm Aloha spirit that comes from everyone at all levels. We were delighted to find our housekeeper... More

From the check in at the front desk to everything in between, it was just the best spot for us for a truly memorable vacation. We had an ocean front room, and it was just amazing. The view, watching people walk by -- but everyone far enough away to not be noisy at all. Could hear only the surf and... More

We've been coming to the hotel on and off for over 30 years and this will be our last unless they spend some money and update things. Our deluxe ocean front room was shabby.....scratched, worn furniture in the room and on our deck. Tiles falling off in bath area; very minimum tub/shower in bath. Comfortable bed/pillows, free wifi in room... More

… then you’ll like the Mauna Lani better than its neighbor, the Fairmont. It’s attractive yet unpretentious. Not perfectly coiffed, but upbeat, lovable and sensitive to your needs. The experience kicks off with free valet service, lei welcome necklaces (shell for the women, kukui nut for the men) and cool guava juice at reception. Ponds throughout are stocked with stingrays,... Having never been to Kona, I read a lot of reviews before settling on this resort. The work paid off. We booked a deluxe ocean front room for seven nights. This package came with a discount for the deluxe room, and included breakfast every morning. This was a big money saver for us. First the room: we were on the... More

I had the privilege of being invited to a 4-day corporate event in this hotel. From the website and the video, one can easily surmise it is top notch. And indeed it was. From the rooms, to the facilities, the service, the food, and the amenities, it totally lived up to my expectations. There are a variety of things to... More

We loved the Mauna Lani. Our room, #640, was at the end of the hotel with a clear view of the water and the gorgeous sunsets. The resort facilities are excellent. The beach is wonderful, the snorkeling was great and the pool area was perfect. We enjoyed ordering room service sushi and staring into the sunset. The room was larger,... More
