We have come to the Mauna Lani for the last six years on a yearly business trip. We go to Maui also, stay in Wailea, and love it too, but this place is "old Hawaii" special - so relaxing you think your bones may melt. The hotel is beautiful in a quiet, non-glitzy way, with a lovely, lush open air... More

Sensational venue....well located, scenic with a SPECTACULAR staff who know how to please guests. Area is VERY beautiful and SCENIC. How wonderful it is to walk the grounds and discover very large sea turtles while walking the beach and the huge selection of fish in the "fish ponds" Strongly suggest the oriental tour of the grounds (free) with the well... This is one of my favorite properties in Hawaii and was glad to be able to stay there last week and be pampered. I don't think it looks old - I think it looks classic Hawaii and the grounds are just gorgeous with lots of ability to be mellow on your own or play with a group if you should... More

This was my husband's and my second stay here (last time was in 2013). We have visited the islands many times since 1989, and we have stayed at some beautiful properties; but I have to say that the Mauna Lani is one of our favorites. Both times we had oceanfront rooms (fifth floor in 2013, and sixth floor this year),... More

We went back and forth a lot choosing between the Mauna Lani and the Fairmont and we were really happy with our choice. We ended up walking over to the beach and eating dinner twice at the Fairmont just to check it out (the sushi place at the Fairmont is fantastic). The Fairmont felt crowded, the beach was small and... More

We spent one night at the Mauna Lani Bay Resort prior to leaving the Big Island. The staff was absolutely lovely and the grounds beautiful. The room was clean, well laid-out and provided plenty of room to relax. A big perk was the ability to pay $95 for a late checkout (around 6pm) for the day we flew out. This... More

I had a short stay with family at the Mauna Lani. They love it and have returned many times. The staff were very friendly and knew them well. The grounds were lovely. The restaurant looked upon lush and tropical trees, plants and waterways. I found the Hotel itself a bit austere and generic. With the exception of a few details... More

This review is long overdue... At the moment you walk in the lobby, it's almost overwhelming....YOU are in Hawaii! I've been to Hawaii several times and something continues to draw me back. I've stayed at the Mauna Lani twice. The food is great but I would suggest you rent a car and explore. Up the road a bit try the... More

This was our 5th trip to Hawaii, our first on the Big Island, and I can easily state that it is our favorite and we look forward to returning!!! Next, please understand that we visited 4/11-17/2015, so we were here on a 'off' week, with a small number of families, a lot of Taco Bell Golden Bell award winners! Ive... More

We had an amazing stay! As soon as we checked in we knew it was far too short. Everyone was wonderful. Our room was lovely and had an ocean view. I was able to sleep to the sound of the ocean and wake in the morning and look out and see the water while still lying in bed. The grounds... More
