Wormald House is supremely comfortable and homely. It is a relaxing place to stay within easy reach of the towns and villages of the beautiful Tyne Valley including Corbridge and Hexham. The en-suite rooms have TV and free WiFi, the breakfast is excellent (and filling) and tea, coffee and biscuits are always available (plus, during my visit, the most delicious... More

I stayed for one night to go to learn silver etching nearby. Absolutely everything about Wormald house shouts welcome, comfort and enjoyment. The room was large and looked out towards the Tyne. The bed was soft and welcoming. Nothing was out of place. I ate out in one of the local pubs, Paul from Wormald house was eating and drinking... More

We stayed at Wormald House September 09 for one night while walking Hadrian's Wall. David's dad (John) picked us up in Heddon and drove us to Wylam. He was very informative, telling us much about the area and history. At the house, David was equally welcoming, informative and helpful. He provided us excellent advice on Corbridge (our next stop on... More

We stayed for two nights and the room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good and our host David was more than keen to accommodate any choices and requests. It is a family run place and well worth a stay to visit the local area and Newcastle.

Stayed at Wormald House for 3 nights whilst visiting family in the nearby area and this was the first time I had ever stayed at a guest house as I usually stay at hotels. My family had stayed here before earlier in the year so we decided to stay again. The guest house is situated just outside of Crawcrook in... More

The Wormald House was exactly what we were looking for as we began our Hadrian's Wall trip. They were considerate, insightful and absolutely wonderful people to be around, if only for a short while. The accommodations were first rate, the breakfast was fantastic and I am a covert to their ham and butter sandwiches. I can't say enough good things... More

We had been looking forward to our visit to Newcastle to watch the Rugby World Cup match between Scotland and South Africa, but my husband had recently had knee surgery and we were a bit anxious about managing. However, from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and given time so that we knew where everything was... More

The reviewer had no idea what to expect as the accommodation was booked by an agency arranging a self guided walk along Hadrian's Wall. Wormald House is a family run establishment and both John and his son, David were helpful and kind without being intrusive. This was a very welcome finish to day one after walking 18 miles, the last... More

Was walking Hadrian's wall and was booked here through sherpa tours. David and John did more than necessary to make sure we were comfortable, going as far as to drive us to dinner and back as well as Heddon on the Wall the next morning. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

Despite a family illness the welcome from John & David was excellent. Showing interest in our visit and offering lots of advice on the surrounding area. We only stayed one night to visit a friend's family and attend a football match at Gateshead but it couldn't have been better. Room 2 was very comfortable with en-suite, traditional decor, clean and... More
