This is a wonderful little guest house in a beautiful village. Having retired from running a delicatessen David Craven has taken over running the guest house with great attention to quality and detail. The beds are comfortable and well appointed and the quality of the breakfast is exceptional. The Craven family are delightful hosts full of advice, recommendations and help... More

We stayed at Wormald House on our first leg of hiking Hadrian's Wall. The house was easy to find and we received a warm welcome from David along with a lovely tea. David booked us dinner at Winships a few villages over where we had a FANTASTIC meal. Breakfast the next morning was cooked by David and Angela and was... More

We stayed here at the beginning of our walk. What a genuine welcome and incredibly generous breakfast. Definitely worth walking those few extra metres! Nothing was too much trouble and our host also booked us in for an excellent pizza next door. Thank you

Stayed here after an exhausting day of walking. Were collected from the Three Tuns by John and given a chance to shower and change before being taken to a restaurant in the next town as they wanted to ensure their guests had a god meal. In the morning they drove us back to the Three Tuns to resume our walk.... More

We stayed, like many others, after a hard days walking from Wallsend. John picked us up, took us to a neighbouring village for food and picked us up again. Angela was very welcoming. The rooms were lovely, spotless and comfy. Breakfast was a feast served by David who was also very friendly and welcoming. You got the impression that nothing... More

We arrived after a long very hot day walking from Wallsend. We had a lovely welcome from John and Angela and even though they were going out for the evening they ensured that we were very well provided for dinner. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, full English and croissants, David kept our plates full and kept us entertained with... More

We started out Hadrian Wall walk and spent the first night at the Wormald House. Having limited experiences with B&B's, we found our stay was comfortable and relaxing! The rooms are bright and fresh and David, John and Angela went out of their way to make us feel at home. John drove us to the next village for supper and... More

This was my first night on the Hadrian's Wall path - Wylam was a lovely little town and their house was easy to find. John and Angela both welcomed me, and she showed me to my bright clean room. Soon tea was ready, then John drove me and the other guests to a great restaurant and picked us up afterwards.... More

This B and B was our first stop after leaving Newcastle on the Hadrian's wall trail. We were going well and got as far as the Robin Hood pub c 6 miles to the west of Wylam before we phoned. Within 10 minutes Mr Craven had come out to ferry us back to Wylam. The welcome from the whole family... More
