great place! great staff! The island it's small and can host just 10-15 people. Close to Jakarta but far enough for have a great sea. The Cottages are open and directly connected to the sea. Amazing lunch and dinner with fresh sea food. Macan is certainly the best of the 1000 island. GO THERE!

Pulau Macan, one of the Thousand Islands just of Jakarta, is a special oasis that takes you far away from the madness of crowded traffic-jammed city. Just 90min by a comfortable speed boat from Ancol, it is a very small island (taking no more than 15min to walk around it), with villas built all around the circumference. The resort itself... More

We haven't been in 2 years, and was pleasantly reminded what a couple getaway it is from the city. They have another island about 200 meters across, so you can get your Robinson Crusoe fix then leisurely walk or swim back to the bigger island. Stars at night, clear aquamarine water, healthy home cooked meals, and just a lot of... More

The island can be reached in 90 minutes from Marina Ancol. A very suitable location for people living in jakarta to get away for a short vacation. This is a private island hence only those staying on the island would likely to appear there. Very quiet and relaxing. The food they serve is very good too, cooked by an old... More

I went there for one day trip starting from Ancol Marina Port and arrived in Pulau Macan at ten. When we arrived, brunch has served in the main hut of the resort ; fresh juice, breads, pancake, fresh milk - Delicious, it feels like home. After brunch, I decided to walk over to the small island. White sand, clear water,... More

I've been here a couple of times, in 2010 with a friend (stayed in owner's hut/island hut since he's a friend) for a weekend, and in 2015 with my husband (driftwood hut) for 5 days. Both times were to decompress/destress and both times were wonderful. Yes, as some people pointed out, it's expensive, but for us as travellers who enjoy... More

I have been in Tiger Island 4 times and I will be back again. It is very easy to reach and very relaxing. Of course it is expensive but if you don't drink beers or other drinks you have all included. There you can find all what you need for snorkeling. There is no beach but in 20 minutes kayak... More

We stayed for two nights (Fri/Sun) in November and went back to Jakarta very relaxed. The accommodation is simple and very "open", the sea breeze functions as natural AC. It's not a luxury Island in the 5* sense, but luxury here means time, enjoying the clean sea, the relaxed atmosphere at the restaurant and bar, sitting on the deck and... More
