The gardens at this hotel are exceptionally nice, well maintained and would be perfect to enjoy on a lovely sunny day. However, the 'hotel' isn't like a hotel at all. It is used as a venue for Weddings and conferences. This is obvious because, on arrival, they couldn't even rustle up a simple sandwich. We asked if we could order... More

Brilliant stay, we attended a friends wedding and really had a lovely time. The gardens are amazing, simply breath taking and very well maintained. All staff were friendly/helpful, in fact the best staff I have come across in a hotel, Jenny on reception went out her way to help. The wedding ran smoothly and everyone had a good time, the... More

I just stayed at this hotel with some friends for a wedding. The food was very good. Very nice breakfast, but we experienced very poor customer service, especially at the reception desk. We had some questions when we checked out as the room's fees weren't the one agreed over the phone when we booked and one of the lady at... More

Strip away the setting and this hotel would struggle to sell rooms at anything above Travel Lodge rates. I'm sure all the rowdy wedding guests like it especially the ones that don't get out much, get stinking drunk, loud and obnoxious however for anything else think twice. It does have a good conference facility and no complaints about the food... More

Brilliant atmosphere, with a touch of class and elegance. Friendly, very helpful staff, who look after your every need. Exquisite food, with that touch of luxury. Loved it! Have been before, as had my 40th birthday in the Karaoke room and stayed overnight...luxurious and very large room...in fact, it was the honeymoon suite! My 41st birthday we celebrated with an... I am very sad to say that our stay in a very basic double room started off by sitting on a stained green over throw on the edge of the bed, that had to go in the corner. I went to make a cup of tea and found I had no spoon to stir it with, So far, not so... More

Stayed for a wedding midweek and really enjoyed the hotel stay as a family. Lovely bar area and the gardens were great for the kids to run round in and explore. Room had a massive triple bed, the hotel and made up a cot and the sofa bed for the children, which were all great. Breakfast was fab, loads of... More

I got married here on 1st august. The whole day was amazing. In the lead up they were brilliant with all my silly questions! Everyone commented on how super the food and grounds were. Our suite was fab! They really did make our day special. Nothing was too much for them and bex our coordinator for the day was calming... More

The hotel is a beautiful old property steeped in history with a more modern annex and vast wonderfully manicured gardens. The staff are all extremely helpful and happy to help guests. The restaurant is excellent with a varied selection of delicious food whether eating inside or at the barbecue on the terrace. I can't think of any reason to fault... More

Fanham's is a lovely historic building with impressive gardens, but as other reviewers have noted, if you aren't part of an event, you will miss out on things. I was there three nights, and at no time could I use either of the two guest lounges. I peeked in to see them and would have loved to sit there and... More
