We stayed here for 3 nights and really loved sleeping with just the sounds of the jungle and the river around you, although it did get a bit chilly in the night even with the blanket from Ernah Lodge and I wish I'd taken my sleeping bag. We got the bus up from Sandakan which was fine, but be warned... More

We had a great time at Lupa Masa. Be sure to leave your backpack in Poring so you won't have to carry it up hill to the jungle camp. You won't need much in the camp, the camp has no electricity (this might change in the near future), so anything electrical is just extra weight to carry. The only thing... More

From Georgia in Kota Kinabalu to meeting Mike in rubber jungle shoes outside Ernah Lodge in Poring - all we can say is - "everyone travelling in Borneo should get out of their air conditioned hotel rooms and experience a couple of nights and days in Lula Masa." The night walk, caving, tubing and the ultimate of sleeping in the... More

I stayed 3 nights and got a great impression of how it is to live in the jungle. The lonely planet description is off by a few things: it's 25 min walk from poring - isolating you away from turists and luxury things like wifi. The place has an amazing natural "spa" area with a cooled "pool" in the small... More

We had an enjoyable one Níght stay which included a night walk. Enjoyed a morning swim in the river right beside the camp. Well worth the natural experience. Good experience as a family trip with grown up children. We could have done with a couple of more nights to really see more of the amazing wildlife.

We visited this place last year during the summer. It was simply amazing! The camp has a number of tents for lodging, but we stayed in the (only) riverside house for 2. It was very basic, but by far the coolest place I have ever stayed: a small wooden (bamboo) construction, close to a jungle river which you can (and... More

We enjoyed two nights at Lupa Masa two weeks ago. We didn't have any idea what we would encounter when we booked the trip. It was a positive surpise for us. After you arrive in Poring Hot Springs at a laundry shop and after you are advised that you don't want to bring all of your luggage into the jungle... More

I'm an English teacher in Sabah and brought my parents and brother to Lupa Masa for two nights. Some tips: - pack light and go slowly to the camp. It was raining when we made the trek from poring to the camp so going was a bit rough and we were very tired when we arrived - try to think... More

Lupa Masa was a lovely experience: to hear the jungle sounds, sleep rough and relax. There is really nothing to do there but relax. It is lacking in walking trails into the jungle but is situated next to the river which is lovely for a swim. The volunteer staff was very helpful. However - The camp needs a lot of... More

We are disappointed to hear your recent experience was not as ideal as you hoped. it is a constant challenge to manage all the aspects of a busy camp that is actually in the jungle and sometimes due to exceptional circumstances standards may slip. On this occasion of your visit the premature arrival of the camp manager's new born twins... More

There can't be many other jungle camps like this in Asia... certainly not in Borneo. The location- with rivers, waterfalls & jungle all around you- is unsurpassed in natural beauty. For travelers used to the easy life of nice hotels the simple camp might take a bit to get used to, but no one should be put off by minor... More
