Having just arrived from S.I.Tours sister lodge Abai (please see previous review) after a good hour's boat ride the lodge looked very similar. As before we were just staying overnight here and checked in to our room. It was marginally less basic than Abai but again I stress that you are not spending all of the time inside the room.... These are simple accommodations and don't expect anything.....but after staying at the Abai Jungle Lodge, this was a huge improvement. Five of their rooms had air conditioning and I had one of them - this made a difference to me as the heat here is enough to make one ill. I was able to sleep at night. Rooms feel more... More

We spent two nights here after being at their sister lodge Abai. We had the same guide, Landrico, (Junior) who was excellent. It was busier on the river here than at Abai but still very enjoyable and cruising on the river is very relaxing and a great way to see wildlife.

A pretty basic, yet unforgetable experience of ecotourism our stay at the Lodge was, back in summer 2013. Once settled there you will certainly feel at the heart of Sabah's local jungle and riverside wildlife, and perhaps in the best location ever to discover the very rich animal and vegetal wildlife of the region around the Kinabatangan River. Some useful... More

This was probably the most basic of the hotels we stayed in but it was more than adequate. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed although no toiletries are provided so make sure you have shampoo etc. There was no choice at dinner or breakfast but the food was perfectly ok. I wasn't keen on having to wear the provided... More

We spent a few days on the River with Lat, our guide from the Kinabatangan River Lodge. It was the most amazing experience we have had. We got so close to the wildlife - birds, snakes, monkeys, crocodiles - we could almost touch them. Lat took us to some wonderfully secluded areas and allowed us so much time to view... More

A day on the river travelling down to the chalets is an experience. Once there you can get a small boat and do some wildlife spotting - there is loads to see. The staff are great and the jungle noises in the night make you wonder what's out there! I would definitely recommend a night here if you are in... More

We booked a package deal directly with the onwners of the lodge which included the transfers and pick ups, meals, the cruise and guide. We were expecting not to see a lot but we're lucky to see 15 Pygmy elephants, one big male Orangutang sitting on a tree eating figs and two crocodiles as well the various different monkeys! The... The cabins maybe simple but there is hot water and clean linen, the food is also very simple with no choice but it is fine - the rest is all about the wildlife. Your room has no aircon but there is a fan the only toiletries supplied is foam soap in a dispenser so take your own shampoos etc. it... More

This was our landing spot for two nights during our adventure in wild Borneo. The slow, scenic cruises along the rivers and small tributaries were some of my favorite experiences of the trip. You really feel like you are immersed in nature and the natural rhythms of the wildlife in the area. This lodge has rustic, local charm and the... More
