This was an awesome experience completing boat cruises and nature walks. We had a lot of rain which is a shame as there was a lot of mud everywhere. The staff were great and the food incredible. Interesting experience: Typically we stay at rather comfortable hotels so we were a little surprised by how basic this place was- although it was not expensive, it is not that cheap compared to prices in the rest of the country (however it was one of the cheaper places in the area). You have to get to Medan Selera about an hour from Sandakan and then get picked up by Nature Lodge to go by bus to the Kinabatangan (about 2 hours). We had a chalet with private bathroom. The rooms were... More

We were not planning on doing a river safari on the Kinabatangan but were so glad we did. We bumped Poring, and have no regrets. The staff and accommodation at this new place on the Kinabatangan should be enjoyed by more people.Thankyou Lem and Louis and the girls in camp! As they only opened for business there in September last... More
