Me and my mum had booked online to stay here for 6 nights, but left after only one night, even though we lost the money for the 5 following nights. The ambience of the place can be summarised with: ´the resort that God forgot´ The place is supposed to be a 3-star place. The bungalows are basic concrete, spread out... More

Ok so after reading a bunch of negative reviews let me just point out a few things. First of all yes there are good and bad things about this hotel. I paid $60 CDN for a little cottage and got a free breakfast everyday. Yes my room was small. Yes it was far from the main area of the resort.... More

We have been coming to Thailand for over 15 years staying in accommodation ranging from cheap back packers/bungalows to 5* resorts. The Samet Ville Resort though has to be the worst experience we have ever had. We were initially given a sub-standard room which was far removed from the photos online when we booked it. Having complained we were given... More

I really do not like writing negative reviews, but I feel it is my duty to warn others to think twice before booking a room here. I made the mistake as others have done before me of booking this Samet Ville resort instead of the Samet Villa resort. Could this slight change in spelling be intentional? Even the taxi driver... The beach at Ao Wai is amazing. Samet Ville is only resort on this beach, so you have no choice. There are many different types of bungalows, we had standard with air con. Rooms are very tired, electric wires hanging off, curtains old, beds old, bathrooms very basic and dirty, worn. Restaurant for lunch is OK and good menu, dinner... More

I'll start with the positives: They've made a good job of blending the resort in with its surroundings - the numerous beach huts and cottages nestle into the trees and undergrowth around the bay and become almost invisible. The staff were, on the whole, friendly and helpful, making a lot of effort to speak English when my pitiful Thai dried... More

I made a big big mistake - wanted to book samet villa resort (near silver sand beach) but booked samet ville. Only one letter difference can destroy all your vacation !!! Please be care!!! I can't call this place - resort. It seems like a ghost village - nobody cares about trees, trails, houses, beach (((( room was unreal smelly... More

I have never been advised by staff to not to order a certain dish. Until yesterday that is. It did not help much though because the rest of the dishes were bad too, both Thai and western. The tomato soup was made with ketchup, and a (as in one) chopped tomato. We ate for 1000thb talk about overpriced. The breakfast... More

For the first time in more than 10 years I have to make a negative review on Thai customer service. Not even one smile at arrival, room has big bin full of garbage from previous customers, ok can happen, go on and smile we are in a paradise! Toilet is dirty, ok it can happen. Mini tiny shampoo and bath... More

This place presents as an enigma. There are some stunning new cabins which look great; however the cabin in which we stayed was pretty tired, had a bare fluorescent light for a main light, and was basic. Perhaps in its day it was fine but not now. Dinner was good, but breakfast was lame with white bread, make your own... More
