The beach at Ao Wai is amazing. Samet Ville is only resort on this beach, so you have no choice. There are many different types of bungalows, we had standard with air con. Rooms are very tired, electric wires hanging off, curtains old, beds old, bathrooms very basic and dirty, worn. Restaurant for lunch is OK and good menu, dinner... More

I'll start with the positives: They've made a good job of blending the resort in with its surroundings - the numerous beach huts and cottages nestle into the trees and undergrowth around the bay and become almost invisible. The staff were, on the whole, friendly and helpful, making a lot of effort to speak English when my pitiful Thai dried... More

I have never been advised by staff to not to order a certain dish. Until yesterday that is. It did not help much though because the rest of the dishes were bad too, both Thai and western. The tomato soup was made with ketchup, and a (as in one) chopped tomato. We ate for 1000thb talk about overpriced. The breakfast... More

For the first time in more than 10 years I have to make a negative review on Thai customer service. Not even one smile at arrival, room has big bin full of garbage from previous customers, ok can happen, go on and smile we are in a paradise! Toilet is dirty, ok it can happen. Mini tiny shampoo and bath... More

This place presents as an enigma. There are some stunning new cabins which look great; however the cabin in which we stayed was pretty tired, had a bare fluorescent light for a main light, and was basic. Perhaps in its day it was fine but not now. Dinner was good, but breakfast was lame with white bread, make your own... More

Poor service, poor rooms, terrible food and absolutely no value for money. The place is very lonely, absolutely nothing to do. I made a mistake making a reservation there. We left after one day although I had booked for a week. It is not up to the standards and friendliness that you are used to in Thailand when you go... More

I thought that I would have made a good choice for staying a little bit far from the middle of the area. No livin' in the dream, it was the worst experience I have ever made. It was 4pm ish when I landed from the truck taxi, I finally made myself standing in front of this resort with a big... More

My wife and I stayed here in March 2013 and again this year. We never experienced " the hordes of Russians" yes day trippers arrive from Pattaya but no more the 30-40 tops while we were there. The accomadation is so varied, there tired cheap bungalows to expensive modern ones, it's up to you. The Tha lunch menu is cheap... More

All in all a very beautiful place. The beach is great - a wonderful bay with clear water and fine sand. However, there are some drawbacks. The service is average and not as nice as it could be for Thailand. The breakfast is poor and you only get what they have in store not more or less. The food in... More
