We are just back from a very enjoyable and restful fortnights holiday at the Grand Hotel in Mgarr. Our rooms had a large terrace and were kept spotlessly clean. The view from our balconies was lovely and the air conditioning very effective. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the hotel staff. The free hotel bus service to beaches and... more

We booked Grand Hotel online, and we were tremendously pleased with our 11-day-stay there. We had a spacious room with a stunning view over the harbour to Comino and Malta, The food was excellent, particularly when they offered special buffet evenings on the roof top. The Oriental Buffet (once a week) is a class of its own, for a most... more

I'm currently in the hotel and for the first time in my life I'm counting the days left to go back home!!!! If you can choose an other other, if you have already booked it then do NOT expect a 4 stars hotel service. The food is below average and if you have any particular need to no bother to... more

Great pool area overlooking the harbour. There were always sun beds available. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Lovely breakfast included every morning and great choice of food. Price of lunch/dinner food/drinks at the hotel were also very reasonable. Free transfer to the ferry which was great. However, rooms were basic enough and in need on an update but they... more

Lovely hotel from the outside, a little dated on the inside...Attention to detail is not their main objective..so you see dead weeds and plants in the flower pots, moldy stucco walls, tired lobby....BUT, the rooms are bright and airy, the view lovely, the pool inviting, the beds and sheets wonderful...so, for the money, it was great. The staff is excellent... more

This is one of the best values in Western Europe. We stayed for four nights in late February; since this was the low season, the rates were very reasonable. The hotel is modern, with very spacious rooms. We had a "superior oceanview" room, which came with a balcony and a great view of the harbor, the Mediterranean, and part of... more

My husband and I stayed here for four days from 7th May. I had read earlier reviews, took their advice and booked a Superior Seaview Room - what a good tip! The room was huge (on opening the door DH remarked that we should have bought a football!). The balcony was large enough for two sunbeds, a table and two... more

This was our first ever stay here and we only stayed for a night. But it was enough to leave us impressed. Everything from the early breezy check in , the welcome drink, the attentive staff, the spotless huge room with an excellent view on Mgarr port to the breakfast and dinner, made this stay a perfect one. We stayed... more

We had a room with a sea view which was great: the bed was huuuuge, the view absolutely great with a big terrace, and the staff was very nice and helpful (which was even more appreciated once we arrived in la Valette later on where everybody was rude and/or tried to cheat us…). Some picky people would probably have minded... more

What a lovely place to stay but beware, make sure you book a sea view room the country view is a bit dismal and the internal rooms, well they are internal. We had a sea view with large balcony overlooking the harbour and Comino. The room was lovely. The staff were friendly but there was a Brit working at Reception... more
