I was very concerned about my holiday at the Selmun Palace having read some of the reviews on this page so was relieved when we arrived at the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and good fun - especially the bar staff and the courtesy bus driver. The rooms were clean and the pool area was lovely. Food was typical... more

The Selmun Palace hotel has good points, and some areas for improvement that I'll aim to summarise below: Location We stayed here in the first week of June, the purpose of the stay was for our friends' wedding (which was great), so there were a group of 20-50-somethings and we were able to make our own entertainment. However, if you... more

As a middle aged couple who like to eat about on holiday, the hotel was fine overall, but the buffet evening meal was expensive at 17 euros and was like conference meals- edible but uninspiring. Breakfast was similar with hot food looking as if it had been cooked a couple of hours earlier. The location is quiet but we did... more

Its good value for medium priced, medium range hotel. Very quiet setting. The rooms are clean, spacious and equipped with all you might need although now in need of sprucing up. Food is average - we prefer to eat out as we are not keen on buffet style eating. Staff are as helpful as they can be. Forms a good... more

After reading through all the reviews on here I have to say I was a bit apprehensive about going - I worried for nothing. The hotel was lovely. Our room was basic but very clean, maid service everyday. The food was fabulous - a huge selection of salads, mains, pasta dishes, carvery and a large selction of desserts everyday. Even... more

I stayed at the Selmun Palace for 2nights together with my fiancee. When we arrived the palace looked amazing, when we entered the room.... natural disaster... floor tiles are stained, double beds in this hotel does not exist. you'll find 2 single beds joint together. Then we switched on the TV, only one english or italian channel, the others are... more

A 4-star hotel for that price? Sound too good to be true? Yup! This place has massive potential, and its the failure to realise even a fraction of this potential that is so depressing. Its isolated location is a problem. This would be OK if it was splendid isolation, but its a more squalid than splendid. It takes 15min to... more

I have just retured from the selmun palace for the second time and found it as nice as the last visit, we did however, stay in the castle which was wonderful to say the least. the staff very helpful and the food good with choice, but geared for the germans it seems, although choice was good and something for everyone.... more

Have just returned from the Selmun Palace after 2 weeks half board staying with a girl friend. We had a great time. The staff were great and really appreciate it if you engage them in conversation, please don't treat them like slaves as the many German tourists seem to do.The rooms were pleasant, ours had a side sea view and was... more

I have just returned from a week stay at the Selmun Palace. From the brochure and Internet pictures it looked fabulous and as I was travelling alone I wanted some luxury. I was very dissapointed with the datime entertainment ( none ) and the evening entertainment was only on for two nights. I was hoping to meet people this way.... more
