Monte Gordo, Hotel Navegadores, Algarve, Portugal Date: June 26, 2009 Reviewer: Trip Advisor member, Londom, UK Its star rating is is higher for what it provides.but located in nice area with good beaches. Do not provide beach towels, but you can take bath towel at your risk.Room entry cards sometimes do not work. More partonised by crowds of Spanish pensioners.... more

After reading some of the reviews, I thought 'Oh no' but I must say everything was good, except the food and being forarmed we took extra money to buy out.Hotel very clean, staff friendly, nice spot in the village, nothing else to fault. The village was small and easy to get around, miles of beach, some great resaurantes and bars... more

First impressions - the "hotel" looks like a bottle green concrete block! The staff on reception were quite helpful. But we were told that our room would be ready in 20 mins, 2 hours and 3 hours! It was actually about an hour. Your have to fight your way through a crowd of men smoking on the steps to get... more

After reading previous reviews, I thought that some people were just complaing for the sake of it, but they were spot on. The hotel is something out of the 60's, although the rooms were clean and towels replaced daily. The swimming pool and outside areas are in dire need of updating while the underground carpark (or restaraunt as it is... more

After reading many negative comments on this hotel, I kept an open mind when arriving. Reception staff were extremely helpful and even took us up to our room. The room was cleaned daily, had the usual amenities and the view of the mountains was spectacular. The restaurant was normal fare: breakfast- ham , cheese, eggs, frankfurters, cereals, freshly baked bread,... more

Ignored by reception staff for 7 minutes waiting to register was not a good start. The twin room with on suite bathroom was basic but clean. Very little wardrobe/storage space. 1970's style heated indoor pool with 1970's carpeted sun terrace. 1960's style school dining room. Breakfast consisted of 1 inch thick toast, bread, bread buns, iced buns and more bread. Plenty... more

We were disappointed at the state of the Hotel which was in need of refurbishment, and the meals were very poor. We tried contacting 'Youtravel' representative, but to no avail. more

After seeing the reviews for the hotel, after booking, we are actually dreading the holiday. Yes food was basic and not alot of choice but what was available was edible and actually quite good. It was the same as what was available in near by restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were kept very clean.... more

What can I say that has not already been said. I always read reviews before booking any accomodation and decided to try this hotel as it could not be that bad. WRONG, it was as bad as I had read. The only good thing was the cleanliness of the room and the location. The dinner was practically inedible. Salads left... more
