We happened upon this hotel on a cool misty evening en route from Burgos in Spain to the Lisbon coast. What a gem. We had two rooms (double and triple) for our family of 5 adults. The double room had French doors opening onto a large balcony which overlooked a small park. The hotel is situated in the centre of the old town and is full of old world ambience. The charming and helpful reception personnel spoke English and the rate was excellent (55 euros per room, including breakfast). There is an extremely comfortable lounge area, and the bedrooms are large warm and cosy with clean, modern bathrooms. Breakfast was a banquet of hot and cold food in a magnificently appointed dining room. There is ample parking on the street outside and the shops and sights of Guarda are all within a few minutes walk. We especially appreciated the 12 noon checkout time and spent the morning exploring the town before continuing our journey. We would definitely stay here again and both the hotel... more
