We stayed for a week and we loved the chalet and location. The chalet was very comfortable , cosy and very well equipped with a stunning view. We used the boat for trips on the fjord were we spotted porpoises and seals as well as getting up close to the spectacular water falls. From the comfort of the chalet you... More

It would be impossible not to love these cabins - set right on the edge of the fjord, overlooking the water and mountains, within walking distance of the village of Flam, fitted with everything travellers could need (including a washing machine and clothes rack). The small boat which is provided with each cabin is an added extra (and was a... More

My family and I spent one full week in the cottage number 2 of Anders and Sue. Was amazing! It was our first travel experience with our baby which at that time had only 11 months and it was great! House perfect and clean! The possibility to use the small boat (included in the price) was an excellent plus. Very... More

Fretheim Fjordhytter are wonderful cottages, providing modern, clean, and comfortable accommodations amidst the beautiful and stunning scenery of Flam. Near enough to the center of town to be convenient, but far enough away to be safe from the throngs of cruise ship passengers, the location is great. Sue and Anders and perfect hosts, providing assistance and information as needed, but... More

These cottages are just idyllic. The location is perfect just a few minutes walk from the facilities of Flam but far enough away to be removed from the bustle of cruise ship passengers. Abutting the water, the view is surely as good as any self catering accommodation anywhere in the world! The cottages are very comfortable and the owner, Anders,... More

We were sad to leave this little piece of paradise. The Fjordhytters are the perfect base to experience the magic of the surrounding area. It's an easy walk on the boardwalk from the train or ferry, but enough to get away from the frenzy of the cruise ship crowds. The boat provided enables freedom to explore and enjoy the area... More

This was the best place I have stayed anywhere in all my travels. The cottage was warm and cosy with all the amenities and the view spectacular abd stunning. Anders Fretheim was very helpful and gave us some tips on how to spend the 3 days there. The boat with each of the cottages gave us the opportunity to experience... More

Sue and Anders were so welcoming and helpful they made us feel right at home. The cabins are just superb - the view number one as you are right on the edge of the fjord - and we had such a great time taking out the little boat that comes with the cabin and being the only ones out on... More

Flam was our introduction to Norway and wow! We stayed here for 3 nights in and it was fabulous! The outlook is something special, your view is looking straight up a spectacular fjord. The cottages are well set up and you don't want for anything and so, so clean. There is plenty of space to relax away from home, with... More

Simply superb! Fantastic location on the water's edge of Aurlandsfjorden. Just a stroll from Flam's harbor. Spectacular views. Superb comfort. Excellent equipment, furnishings, kitchen. In short, the place has everything for the perfect holiday in Norway's magnificent Fjordland, not far from Bergen. PLUS, the lovely welcome and hospitality of the owners, local farner Anders and his Aussie wife Sue. If... More
