We stayed here after a day of trains and hiking with backpacks (11 day trip inside). The woman at the desk was very welcoming despite our very late arrival and gave us good tips on where to eat and what to do. The heated floors in the bathroom were amazing as we had just hiked in chilly rain the entire... More

We picked this hotel because it was recommended by Rick Steves. Normally I love all of his recommendations, but he got this one wrong. Plus: Away from the busy part of town with nice fjord views from the front steps. Inexpensive for Norway standards. Negatives: Unfriendly older woman at front desk (the younger one was friendly). The rooms are very... More

Stayed here for one night during a heat wave (hottest week in 25 yrs for Norway). No air movement even with the windows open. The bathroom only had hot water, and not much pressure for showers. Beds were narrow, and (unlike what I had been promised) there was no way to have them next to each other to create a... More

Biggest problem here was lack of wifi connectivity. For some reason their wireless router would not work consistently with anything except Apple devices. All the users on iPods or iPhones were able to login. Users on either Android or Windows devices were out of luck. We needed to confirm our room reservation in Oslo, because of our very late arrival... More

This is a well-positioned but very basic guesthouse. Our 3 night stay was pleasant enough but certainly could have been better. The guesthouse has a great location a welcome few hundred metres out of the excessively touristy centre of tiny Flåm. Unfortunately ours was not a fjord view room but instead faced the hillside, however we were notified in advance... More

The Heimly is a well positioned hotel in Flam, as it's on the opposite side of the harbour, and has a view right down the fjord. The same can't be said for the other hotels, which either look over the various tourist shops that make up the area, or straight into the side of a mammoth cruise ship, which arrive... More

A short walk from Flam railway station and Jetty. Very neat and clean place. Provides all the essential facilites and no frills. The breakfast is adequate What is remarkable about this place is the view of the fjord, which changes hue through the day and night. Great place for a quite holiday

We were 4 people and we booked 2 rooms through "Norway in a nutshell" program (discounted rate). Result: micro-rooms with no view; no courtesy of the staff at all. Micro-plastic-bathrooms (caravan's stile). One of the worst hotel experiences of our lives. Few hotels in one tourist place do not mean that everything is allowed.

Stayed overnight during our stopover in Flam. The place is clean and comfortable, with breathtaking views of the fjord from the room windows. Very quiet and peaceful overall. Location is very easily accessible to go on one of the many hikes in Flam, or to the old town - or just a short walk to the water front. Went on... More
