The setting is beautiful and rustic but the cabins are actually nice and renovated on the inside. One drawback is having to walk outside to get to the bathroom/showers, but hey, just embrace the summer camp vibe. Definitely would recommend and get dinner at the food truck by the hostel's entrance! Really good and reasonably priced. We tried the chicken... More

We visited Flåm camping during the holiday season in July. It was quite busy. We were travelling by tent and this was the only camping where we were appointed a spot. Not that that was a problem, because there was enough space. Only downside was that we were lying a tad far away from the kitchen and shower facilities, which... More

I have stayed in many youth hostels in my life, and I am pretty sure this is the first time I had to go to another building to go to the bathroom, take a shower, or even brush my teeth. The property is not too bad, and is conveniently located to town. It's a large campground, and there are several... More

Flam Hostel is a nice family run place. I slept some nights in a dorm bed. If you take beds in the old building you have to use shared toilets and bathrooms with the camping guests, but they are always clean. There is a super clean, well equiped kitchen in the old building which is shared by 5 rooms (overall... More

The room was basic for the 800kr we paid. There were showers and toilets across in a seperate building but you had to pay 10kr (~£1/$2AUD/$2USD) for a 5 minute shower and this WASN'T advertised. we've stayed in campgrounds with free showers for a lot less. The room had clean linen and shared a kitchen with 6 other rooms. In... More

Just a few minutes walk from the railway station, free linens and bedsheets are provided. Clean room but it is a bit small for a four person private room, we can't find even a place to walk after we have all opened our baggages. It is suggested to provide free breakfast (or budget breakfast) for travellers. The staff was very... More

Flam is a little village at the foot of one of the most beautiful fjords in Norway. Pure nature. It is worth visiting once in your life, no doubt. We stayed in a lovely cabin in the camping. Probably not the most comfortable place to sleep, but really charming. Don't miss the hike to the waterfall.

and that's the toilet. it is beyond my comprehension why they can't simply build a toilet in each of the houses. See, the thing is, the rooms are spread across different wooden houses. So several people would be sharing one house with maybe 3-4 rooms and one kitchen. that's perfectly fine. then comes the toilet. it was located in an... More

We spent three nights with my husband and his parents in one of the cottages (2 room cottage with kitchen and bathroom) in the month of July. The cottage was excellent and we had running water. We brought bed linen with us so we didn't rent the linen from them. The stay was fine but we experienced an extremely hostile... More

We had a wonderful experience in our little cabin. It was two rooms with a tiny kitchen included. The bedroom had bunks so since there was just the two of us we used the double fouton instead. It was very comfortable. The scenery was beautiful and the town is very cute after the cruise boats leave. It was expensive for... More
