I gave the hotel an excellent rating, because I believe it is the hotel to stay at in Flam despite it not being "excellent", it was v good. Fiord facing views are the best views you will get in a hotel in Flam and if the weather isn't great you will love the place anyway from your hotel room and... More

Whilst this is a nice hotel in a great location, we were not expecting to be charged twice for our room. So we have now paid almost £1000 for our 3 night stay!! Having initially raised this issue over a month ago and been told it was being looked into, the amount has still not been refunded. Management is hopeless... More

The hotel is fantastic in front of a superb fjord, great rooms very clean, great breakfast. Beware of the large crowds clogging the town when cruise boats (discharge). However not a recommendable address because their reservation charge does not clear for a month after the full actual charge, resulting in a double charge. The answer from management: just be patient.

The rooms were large and comfortable even though expensive but everything is expensive in Norway. Location is phenomenal literally across the yard from the train, ferry and boats. We were a large family group which all felt welcome and comfortable. Would have liked to stay longer.

I had the chance to stay at a number of historic hotels in Norway, and this was one of them. It was a really enjoyable stay there. I wanted a place that was near the Flam Railway and the fjord cruises. It was very easy to arrive there. The front desk staff was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable.... More

Arrived at this hotel after having travelled all day. the room was comfortable at the back of the hotel, but you have to keep the curtains closed when dressing as there is a path at the back. The self service buffet was disappointing, queuing for food and there being no vegetables which subsequently arrived. At breakfast time there was less... More

Loved our stay in the hotel. Nice big room with a beautiful view. Lovely breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Next to the station. Just a bit on the expensive side but ok for Norway. Recommended!

We took the Norway in a Nutshell tour and stayed one night at the Fretheim Hotel so that we could drive out to Borgund Stave church. The Fretheim is nicely situated facing the fjord, with the hills behind it. It looks to be the largest hotel in the small town of Flam; the other hotels we saw seemed much smaller... More

This hotel is beautiful and has a gorgeous view of the fjord. We stayed in the historic room, which had old furnishings that made it feel like an old bed and breakfast. Unfortunately, the wifi doesn’t work well in the historic section.. The breakfast was included and had a huge selection. Keep in mind that their check in isn’t until... More

If you have no expectations other than arriving at a decent hotell in a small village you will probably think that the hotel is great. It has a stunning garden in front, it is renovated and appears modern. It has historic funitures and the interiour design is well planned and thought through (perhaps buy some new chairs in the lobby,... More
