Many rooms from Villa Carlotta have nice views to Lago Maggiore. The rooms were a bit tired, but quite nice. Some people can call them "charming". The service was very good and friendly through our stay (just one night in order to be close to Malpensa Airport). The pool was nice but also that was a bit tired. There were... more

The photos you find online don't show that it's on the road. It's ok though, except that if there is an even there is no parking space for the guests. Other than this, the rooms are comfortable and beautiful. We had a beautiful view on the Lake. The breakfast buffet was rich, and the most amazing thing is the park... more

We been here two times. First, in 2007, me and my wife were on the lake for an holiday, we went to Villa Carlotta just for a lunch and we had a great experience. In 2008 we decided to book this hotel for a week.. The hotel is direct on the lake and has a huge botanic garden in the... more

We stayed two nights and, being November, we hadn't pre-booked. We just walked into what was obviously a very quiet hotel and were able to negotiate a significant discount on the room rates. The room was clean, had just been recarpeted and had a lovely 6 foot bed. The view from the window was spectacular, looking across the lake to... more

A collegue and I stayed at the Villa Carlotta Hotel for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, it was a fair journey into Milan and then onwards to Monza, but the surroundings made it worth the while. It was a well deserved break away from the English weather and we couldn't fault the helpfullness and friendliness of the staff. From... more

We arrived at the Hotel and had to introduce ourselves, not even a greeting from hotel staff. Then it seemed all an effort to find our booking. Finally up to our room. When we had a shower which was in a bath, the water would leak out onto the floor from behind the shower curtain and then onto the carpet... more

My wife and I were among a group that recently visited the Hotel Villa Carlotta, to be initialy astounded but later amused by the rudeness, amounting to hostility, of virtually all the hotel staff, ably led by a head waiter who ws obviously a graduate of the Basil Fawlty School of Hotel Management. Not idealy suited as a base for... more

The hotel has a lot of potential but unfortunately they don't use it. I looked like a haunted hotel. Continental breakfast looked like a party that had just finished and there were plates and food leftover. Staff was friendly however the rooms were not comfortable. Not recommended. more

I am not a super fussy traveller, but this place was the pits. There is absolutely NO WAY that this is a four star hotel, no matter what the price tag suggests (140euros+ for a double is totally over priced). Room had a dodgy carpet, dodgier cracks in the bathroom tiles and an over-dodgy damp smell on every corridor (which... more

We stayed there in May 2004. All staff members could not care less about us. This is a hotel that gets many bus tour so they are almost always full and do not really care about 4 people more or less. The front desk people were upset with us because we had booked through Best Western.com so they said that... more
