Visited this site for the last 2 weeks of August, with 2 adults and 1 teenager, and a 4 man tent. Now to be fair when we arrived it was sunny, but we arrived late!! Reception closed at 7pm and we arrived at 10 past, this is where it rapidly went down hill. Night watchman was rude and totally unhelpful.... More

We stayed at the Nieuwpoort campsite for 7 nights in August in our small VW campervan. We had pre-booked our pitch. On arrival we were disappointed to see that there are few pitches for motorhomes and they are located adjacent to a relatively busy road and quite far from the wash facilities. This wasn't ideal since we don't have a... More

Here are the honest highs and lows of a wet week at Kompas camping with the family. Lets start on a positive note......the on site bakery was fantastic serving a range of fresh breads and pastries daily. There were also ample play parks for the kids to explore. The bike hire was also very good and well priced (€6 for... More

For a family campsite with generally good facilities for children there were a couple of major disappointments. There was a large group of young adult campers on site and whilst that in itself is not a problem the fact that they were allowed to run riot was. They were allowed to play their music extremely loud, party til 3 or... More

Campsite is probably good if you're with children and want them to be kept busy. The toilet blocks were clean but not enough showers for the size of the campsite. We only stopped for one night but had to spend a long time queuing for showers and sinks. Definitely worth bringing or hiring a bike as campsite is so vast.... More

We have just stayed for a week at Kompas Camping Nieuwpoort, this is our second time there as we previously stayed 3 years ago. This is a large campsite with lots to do nearby. It is very handy for the ferry as it is only one hours drive away. The toilets and showers are spotless. There is lots to do... More

We stopped here for a week last year on our way to Luxemborg. This time it was a stop over on the way to Holland, and again on our way back. Toilets & showers still PERFECT! Pitching is now lengthways against the hedge ONLY, no more end on, and with a large UK van (Sterling Eccles Ruby) it only just... More

Why drive miles once of off the channel Ferry when with-in one hour you can be at this site, firstly my wife hates camping and public toilets but the ones here as are good as any could be, brilliant. the site is large and spread out with plenty of wash blocks etc, loads of great parks to keep the kids... Good points:- We had the best of the the weather and it was our second time at this camp. Very clean, excellent on site parks, excellent access to cycle paths (take your bikes). Toilets and showers were very clean, There is more than one so if one is being cleaned, you can use another. Good swimming pools (3) one for... More

This site is very large, mainly given to seasonal pitches. The touring pitches are of a good size and some have a water tap/drainage but beware these are shared between two pitches and you can need up to 10 metres of drainage and water pipe. There were strict pitching instructions enforced and you must comply!!! Caravan to be I metre... More
