I've stayed at dozens of hotels worldwide, never have I been in such a small room/closet. Simply tiny, I could hardly move in it, had to pay attention not to bump my head. Obviously no closet in the room as there wasn't any place. I think the pictures speak for itself. Towels nor soap were added to the bathroom after... more

Bouillon is a lovely little holiday town built along the banks of the river and this hotel appears to have been there for many years and the style of decor reflected this. Our room was small, adequate and clean. However the toilet was positioned in such a way that it had to be used sideways! Dinner in the restaurant was... more

It's definitly not up to Best western standards. It's true that some rooms are grat, but with the standart reservation, you only get a tiny room, and you have to pay a huge supplement to go in a normal one. The service was quite good, but the price the resaurant is very expensive. My bill was wrongfully calculate, at the... more

Good location, near the center of town. Close to bus stops. Rooms are pretty small. Breakfest was O.K. Nicer places to stay on the hill above town. more

The Best Western La Porte de France is located in Bouillon, at the south end of the Ardennes, along the Semois river. It is a convenient walk to restaurants in town, and to kayak tours and rentals across the street (highly recommended). There is parking in front of the hotel, and entry through the side near the restaurant where the... more

This hotel is a smaller town hotel in a big chain. It is well run and has a fine personal touch. Our room was clean and tidy with good fittings and a fine view of the river. The bed was good and although next to a road we slept well. The lift is small but works fine. The bar area... more

We drove from Valkenburg to Bouillon for a stop before heading to Paris. Booked 2 rooms for a one night stay with river views. We were very impreesed with this pretty and friendly town and wished we had another night there so we could picnic , canoe and go go-carting. .Location of hotel excellent...breakfast typically European. We spent half day... more

Bouillon has its own authentic medieval fortress guarding a quiet town along a lazy little river. If you stay at the Porte de France you can be a part of the illusion for a couple of nights that knights still defend noble castles against the modern world. We had a quaint little room overlooking the river with great beds and... more

This is a cute hotel with character and in a great location with beautiful views of the old stone bridges and along the river or the castle. We asked for a river view and, come morning, we could see that we didn't get it. The room we had was oddly configured with a funny fold up bed in it, which... more

We planned to stay in Bouillon for two nights and chose the Porte de France because of favourable reviews on this site. The room we had (which was not the cheapest on their books) was small and cramped. There was room for a table and two folding chairs (but ideally only one open at a time!). There was, however, a... more
