I cannot fault this hotel for cleanliness & being very charming. It is approx. 20 mins walk into the centre of Frascati & you might want to get a taxi home in the evenings as it is a bit tiring. The hotel is situated on the side of a very busy road, which is unfortunate as it leads to quite... more

Dear lailaharrylaila, I'm sorry if your stay was unpleasant. I had a meeting with the reception staff to discuss this inconvenience and try to figure out what happened. This look very shocking to me, as our staff is well trained, kind and very polite. This is the first time I hear a guest complaining about "vulgarity". I invite you to...

Whilst the hotel itself if beautifully decorated and furnished, the rooms are not. They are extremely small with one free standing wardrobe and no shelves or drawers to store clothes and barely enough space for suitcases. Likewise no shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. Room overlooked courtyard where a disco took place one night until midnight. Reception staff were pleasant... more

Dear Hospitalier, I'm sorry if your stay was unpleasant. Please consider that our hotel is a Historical Venue with different rooms (size, view, etc.) and room assignment is usually made randomly. Our reception staff is very helpful and they are happy to move our guests in a different room if they don't like it without extra-price. I'm a little confused...

The only reason this hotel stays in business is that the hotel, the grounds, and the view are absolutely breathtaking. The staff have a very bad attitude. Anytime I had a request they wanted to argue with me. I checked in I asked for a bigger room, a which they were reluctant to give me but finally agreed to to... more

My newly pregnant wife, 3-year-old daughter, and myself spent 10 days in Rome in late April 2009. For us, nightlife was out of the question. We were also looking for a dual experience (urban and country), and we are both interested in history and archeology. We chose the Grand Villa Hotel Tuscolana because it was outside of the bustle and... more

I stayed here with a girlfriend a couple of years ago. I was looking to impress so apart from the first room we were given being completely unacceptable I did the Italian thing and kicked up a fuss and we were moved to a much better room. The food was great and the menu extensive, the gardens lovely and there... more

This hotel is amazing... Slept there for two nights and it was great. The hotel is surrounded by woods, very quiet and romantic. My girlfriend loved it. There's a train goin' to Rome every hour, and the station can be reached on foot too, so it's perfect if you want to visit the city. Had dinner there one night and... more

We had originally planned on staying 5 nights, using this hotel as a base for day trips to Rome and around the area. Upon arrival, we were very disappointed with the room. It was really shabby, lots of scuff marks all over the walls. Our toilet was unbolted from the floor, and many tiles were loose on the bathroom floor.... more

Stayed for 4 nights in mid Sept and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. After 4 days touring Rome city centre it was a pleasure to return to the peace and quiet of this lovely hotel. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to make your stay as comfortable and as pleasurable as possible. Clean rooms with clean sheets... more

Our advice is not to stay at this hotel under any circumstances. We had booked in for 9 nights but left after 2. I have been staying in hotels all over Europe, North America and the Middle East for over 22 years and until the Villa Tuscolana had NEVER found one bad enough to check out like this. Though the... more

What a gorgeous hotel! A breathtaking view, friendly staff, and a great rate. No AC but it wasn't a problem because there was a mountain breeze even in the midst of a heat wave. Julio at the front desk was charming and very helpful. Never heard the notorious gardeners everyone seems to have a problem with. The shuttle thing can... more
