We stayed here 2 nights in December 2008, and perhaps our less-than-enthusiastic reaction to La Casa Grande (and most of Arcos) was colored by the nasty cold wet weather we had while in town. Just a lovely place to stay at the top of the town. A beautiful old building with a charming central room. The owner makes every effort to make it pretty-- each day we were there (3 nights) there were more bouquets of beautiful flowers-- big and little-- and they really made us feel like someone cared. This was a charming little place and we enjoyed it here. Good points...... Our room was a delight. Spacious, clean and with a lovely bathroom. It was nice to sleep there. However, some of our friends got slightly pokey rooms for a similar price, so make sure you know the room is going to be one of the bigger ones.... more

Genuinely warm and congenial hospitality with gourmet breakfast enjoyed in a bright courtyard. Hotel located on a cliff with memorable views of the valley below and breathtaking terraces. Best enjoyed by the young at heart....and young of body. Parking in the square of the parador is possible but not probable...and you better have a small car. Best to use parking... more

charged $900 for chair i didn't break then they woulnd't open my door for me when my key didn't work. they told me to go and find housekeeping to let me in at 3am. more

This was one of the most fabulous hotels in our trip to Spain. Make sure you pay for the rooms with cliffside views across the postcard valley. The room itself is loaded --huge bed, fantastic bathroom -- and then there's the huge window looking off across the Spanish countryside. The building itself exudes history, and it's worth it.
