Dated back to 1608, this is an old establishment and loads of history. Room was big. No lift. Good food. Good beers. Great location. Some might want it more modernised, I like it remaining the historical bits.

Typical Austrian Gasthof for the price food good if you like meat. Very friendly staff. Third floor bedroom a bit of a climb with no lift. Great location for local bars and only short walk to ski lifts.
Needs a bit of renovation all round but its antique charm adds to its character. If you want to know anything ask...

we stayed for two weeks in aug/sept and were pleased overall with the experience. the hotel is centrally located and very traditional but is in need of a refresh with tired decoration, the odd cracked tile/missing lampshade etc. the food we found was very limited for the soup and dessert courses but with a good hearty main course well cooked.it...

Stayed here for a weeks skiing with my 2 sons and friend in Jan 2011, booked direct at a good price and was looking forward to our stay.Taxi picked us up from the station, friendly check-in and reasonable room for the price. Our only problem was with the food variety/quality at dinner.

We returned to the Hotel this year and immediately appreciated the removal of the heavy traditional entrance door - the new automatic door is a real boon when carrying bags and ski gear! The staff were as usual very friendly and helpful as before. The food is very good. We did not experience the problems out-lined by a recent reviewer...

Staff are very friendly and helpful and rooms are cleaned every day including towel changes if required. Free wireless Internet connection is also available...

I love Austria but this was the worst food I have had in 30 years of going to Austria and quite different to other reviews. Also supported by other guests we spoke to. Breakfast was a shambles with empty buffet plates and most things not replaced until we complained. Dinner was average at best with little variation from pork and...

We have been using this hotel for quite a few years now and have found it to be very comfortable, warm, and always loads of hot water - a must for ageing skiers. The food this year was back to its best - the restaurant gets a lot of local trade and serves a varied menu including traditional Austrian cuisine....

The Kirchenwirt is in a great location in the centre of town, not far from Planai lifts. We were thankful of the lockers at the lift station where we could change boots and leave skiis/boards and have apres ski with more comfort (1 euro per day). The hotel is 5 min walk to the lifts and is very traditional and...
