Just spent a wonderful weekend with Colin and staff at The Crown. I probably hadn't put too much research into where to stay, but knew we wanted a quiet weekend where if the weather wasn't great we could just chill and spend the majority of the time at the Inn. Fantastic result! Our room was really spacious, comfortable and the... More

Lovely modern cozy room, great atmosphere in the pub, huge English breakfast and Colin couldn't have been more helpful to make our stay enjoyable. The Inn is a great base for exploring the South Lakes. Cartmel is definitely worth a visit.

WE stayed at this venue between christmas and new year. The room we had was nice and cozy so that pleased us. We thought it was good value for money for the time of year that we stayed The bar and restaurant were also cozy with a log fire burning to give added ambience. The location is good for exploring... Arrived on a wet evening and it was lovely to see a roaring fire. Very cosy. Our room was a bit cramped, but in keeping with the character of the building. Loved the cotton sheets, but bed a bit too firm for us. Nice ensuite, with powerful shower. We had dinner and I made the wrong choice, but my husband's... More

Unfortunately we only stayed one night at this lovely little inn. The staff are all very friendly, and the food is superb. I had the burger and it was huge! There's a great choice of beers, bottled and on tap, including Brooklyn lager- our favourite! Would definitely recommend if you want to explore the Lakes. About a 20 minute drive... More

My girlfriend and I have just got back from a fantastic two night stay at this great little hotel / inn. The service was excellent, the food was so impressive and the value of the stay was great (we got the deal through a voucher website this time). We were sad to leave and plan to go back in the... Accommodation was adequate, clean, with all mod cons and a great shower. Recently renovated. Bed linen was spruce. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was divine and wonderful value. Excellent array of dishes from bar snacks to full three course meals. The cooked breakfast was delicious and just what the doctor ordered before a long day of walking.
