Friendly welcome on arrival and very efficient check in. My room was to the back so there was no traffic noise at all. The room itself was very nice with plenty of space. The bathroom was a good size, with what appeared to be a bottle opener on the doorframe! Food was very good, with a reasonable selection of hand... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night and it was quite lovely. We arrived in time for a delicious pub-style lunch consisting of an enormous home-made pie and a selection of real ales. It was very busy but not over crowded and had a pleasant atmosphere with a good mix of clientele. We were attending a venue elsewhere... More

Booked in for a wedding in tunbridge wells. Had to wait 20 minutes to be seen to in reception. Attitude of the manager was terse and rude. Food was expensive and bland. food served on a wooden block does not mean you can charge an extra 5 to 10 pounds. Their other pub is called the spread eagle and is... More

We have stayed in many bigger establishments, but this is a 17 roomed professionally run hotel with friendly and caring owners. We were able to reserve the disabled access room, which has a very decent wet room, with shower seat, raised toilet, and many rails placed strategically. I would have preferred a shower chair to the small fold up seat... More

We have a son with Learning Disabilities who with some 3 'house mates' had to stay for 3 weeks whilst their local home was being refurbished. This would have generally been a difficult time for them all to 'live' in a place away from 'home', but they were looked after and made so very welcome that it made their stay... More

This place is fab. Staff excellent rooms lovely and have everything and I mean everything you need. Bed was lovely and soft. Looking forward to breakfast in a minute which I am sure will be lovely. Will definitely stay if we are in the area again.

Can't fault the staff, rooms, food, service, atmosphere of this hotel. The hotel rooms are in an adjoining annexe to the main building. My room was to the back on the ground floor, and very quiet. The shower is large and the water pressure etc actually work. There is a small restaurant area next to the bar but the same... More

Nice rooms attached to very decent pub serving good reasonably priced food. The cleanliness was lacking with little attention to detail which makes all the difference. Excellent breakfast and welcoming hosts. Cannot help but think £98 for a mid week October room is extremely punchy and probably £15 too much unless there is better quality of cleaning.

I stayed here with my brother and his wife, after a family gathering in Speldhurst, We arranged to meet other relatives here for a meal in the evening and were more than pleasantly served from an excellent menu. The rooms were very well appointed with ,as far as I could see, everything you could want, perhaps except a land line... More
