This place is absolutely marvelous. Beena, the driving force of the place, and her family comprising husband Verghese, his father, Mr Markose who is an active walker, children Dawn and Varna, exuded warmth and made us feel absolutely at home during our two days stay. In addition were the pets, a hyper one, little ‘Jokri’ and a calm Bruno, who... More

A warm welcome from Beena is the perfect introduction to a leisurely stay with the Varnam family and their lovely dogs. The first breakfast we had was one of the best I've eaten. And the food throughout was fantastic, genuine and fresh Keralan fare. We stayed for four days, and three times a day a whole raft of new dishes... More

We stayed there in April for 4 nights. We were a bit tired and wanted some time to relax, I can say that Varnam Homestay was a great choice. Everything was so clean, comfortable, we were feeling so much at home. The food was the best I've had in India, the family was simply lovely, caring, fantastic (all of them).... More

Very homely place, hosts are extremely courteous. Food is prepared by the lady of the house itself and quite tasty. Very relaxing place to unwind. If you are looking to stay in a basic homestay and visit all the nearby sightseeing places, then this is a good and economical option. Nothing fancy about this place, rooms are simple yet neat.

I had heard so much about Wayanad that I knew it was a must-visit. Varnam Homestay seemed to be the only place worth staying and I loved it. Beena and Varghese gave me a very warm welcome. I stayed in one of the rooms in the main house which surrounded a courtyard giving a very communal feel. The room was... More

Such good vibes at Varnam! If you’re going to Wayanad, absolutely stay here. Varghese and Beena are just wonderful hosts—warm, welcoming, super accommodating. The food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) is SO DELICIOUS. It’s a beautiful house and farm, with relaxing hammocks, awesome dogs (and other farm animals!), gorgeous surroundings, and comfortable rooms. We really enjoyed our stay and found it... More

My fiancé and I initially booked 3 nights at Varnam Homestay and ended up staying for 5, we were having such a lovely time. We'd been travelling for 6 months trough out SE Asia and were in need of some rest & relaxation. Beena & Varghese were the most welcoming hosts & the property itself is set in beautiful, tranquil... This was one place where we were really looking forward to, but it was a big disappointment. The rates mentioned in the guide books is not valid, so we ended up paying more. The rooms are all together so there is no privacy, the food area was flooded beause of rain, and the walks was cancelled because of again the... More

Dear sir, Thank you for spending your precious time to write this review about us in the Tripadvisor but you are not stayed with us at Varnam. This review is false because, 1) No Indian families were stayed with us during February 2015, 2) February 2015 was the driest month of this area and we get no rain during that... More

I stayed at Varnam with a friend whilst travelling South India in August 2014 and can honestly say Varnam was the best place we stayed. Beautiful setting, delicious home cooked food (and SO much of it - prepare yourselves). But what made it the best was the hosts - Beena and Varghese are the most welcoming and lovely couple ever.... Varnam Homestay was wonderful. We travelled there by bicycle and were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. We hadn't booked a room but were accommodated without hesitation and offered breakfast as soon as we arrived. Beena is so lovely and her English is excellent. The food is delicious and there is a lot of variety. It was... More
