My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Forsyth Lodge and Safaris in Satpura National Park. While our focus was on the wildlife and guided safaris, what added to our experience was the warm hospitality of the lodge manager and staff, and the focus on sustainability and supporting the local community... truly inspiring. Our lodge accommodation was spacious, clean... More

Forsyth Lodge is the place to go if you are looking for a comprehensive nature/forest experience. The lodge is idyllic, with lovely cottages spreading into the oncoming woods that surrounds it. Loved to know that it is completely built using eco-friendly material. Sit in the verandah of the cottage and some bird or animal will catch your eye. We saw... More

Satpura NP is definitely worth the visit. Although there are few tigers, there is plenty to see and experience in this beautiful landscape. We had a great time at Forsyth lodge, loved the food and the level of service provided by the staff was the best we ever had. The focus on sustainability was not something we knew of the... More

One of the most wonderful holidays of its type and we are very well travelled! The organization of the excellently guided safaris was beyond fault -- much interesting information about local habitats, animals, birds, plants etc. was very forthcoming --- even useful tips about digital photography to take full advantage of local conditions --- brilliant! Accommodation spacious and comfortable, meals excellent and... More

The hospitality and interaction from the Manager and guides was EXCELLENT. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt completely as ease and safe. The rooms were kept clean and fresh, laundry done, although not ironed. It was nice to sit all together at one table to eat, it made one feel part of a family. There was a variety of... More

Forsyth Lodge is a charming, welcoming place. The family-style meals were excellent (we're all begging for the recipes) and the dinners under the stars simply enchanting. The star-gazing is phenomenal, by the way. Everyone at the lodge is extremely helpful, kind, starting with Rishi and Surya, who make you feel like a member of the family. There is a tangible... More

We spent a couple of days at the Forsyth Lodge in January 2014. And we loved it. The lodge itself is a show-piece of how eco-tourism could work in India. It is shown by how waste management is performed to the knowledge and actually passion of the guides. David and Surya were our guides and we learned a lot from... More

We were greeted with cool flannels and lemon drink after a long drive and this set the scene for a lovely stay. Our room had two huge beds, one on the roof which had mosquito nets to keep the bugs away. It was lovely. Our laundry was done for us as a free service and the food was lovely. Rishi,... More

This was my second visit to Satpura, but the first time I had the pleasure of being hosted by the Forsythe family. Having spent four wonderful days at the lodge, I can't imagine any other way of experiencing the beauty and adventure that Satpura has to offer! From being a sanctuary for people looking to detox from the hustle and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Forsyth's Satpura is a stylish and an environmentally friendly lodge that is engaged with the park management and the local community in a pioneering effort to create an unprecedented jungle experience in one of the most exciting tiger habitats in the world. This is an effort to create an exceptional wilderness experience for those who truly revel in wild places far from the jeep borne hordes that have defaced so many other parks. Here we provide you with an opportunity to explore the jungle on foot, by canoe's, on elephant back, jeeps and motorised boats. You can also experience the nocturnal creatures that the jungles offer by sitting in our machaan which is set in the 45 acres of wilderness around the lodge. We have been ranked 2nd in the recent survey by Conde Nast traveller in the top 30 eco destinations in India and have also been awarded for our outstanding performance by TOFT. ... more   less
