Loved the stay. From Kolkata to Godkhali Ferry Ghat (about 2.5 Hours, little over 100 KMs); then a 1 Hour 45 Ferry ride to the Resort. They have their own boats - so no worry. Excellent feel of nature, very friendly & helpful staff. Pretty good Lunch & Dinner spread (keeping in mind, the menu must cater to all kinds... More

Given the location and the fact that pretty much everything comes by boat, I would warn all who travel to Sunderbans to keep your expectations really low. The accommodation is decent-we took the executive cottage. The food is...well, poor to say the least. The package of 3 days and 2 nights is grueling. One barely gets time to catch one's... More

My expectations of this camp were high and I assumed (wrongly) that it would be like a safari camp / lodge in Africa. How wrong could I be! Most of the staff are pleasant enough and the boatmen who actually do the trips are great. However... the food is dreadful - overcooked and either too spicy or bland beyond belief.... More

The Chief Minster of West Bengal made a private trip, took over the entire hotel and so cancelled our booking. Our agent found another hotel, and all seemed well but the Chief Minister closed the entire National Park the day of our visit and so we had to kill time until the next day when we flew on to Assam.... The tour started badly when the company messed up our reservation (I had reserved it 2 months in advance) and 2 hours into the bus journey I got a phone call from the booking lady who moved us from the best room which we booked to one of the worst rooms and refunded the difference. If I had know I... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the camp. The rooms were basic but neat and clean. Food was not that great. The scenery was beautiful and it was a very unique experience. Keeping in mind the fact that the place is located in the middle of nowhere, it is quite a good accommodation. The boat timings could have been more... More

The place is satisfactory, with all the accommodations provided. Though there is no wi fi etc. The landscape of the place is unique. The rooms are ok while the food is good. Its a decent place to stay. The mornings are beautiful with birds chirping and turtles and ducks in the pond.

Visited Sunderbans during 23rd Jan weekend with Sunderban Tiger Camps (Waxpol) for 2 nights and 3 days. It was a unbelievable experience right from boarding bus from Kolkata till end of the trip. Everything went as per plan and right on time, including boarding the bus, getting into steamer, going to multiple local trips by steamer, breakfast, lunch, dinner etc.... More

We stayed two nights at the Sunderban tiger Camp. It was a unique experience as the mangrove forests are a unique ecosystem in itself. We took the 2N 3 D package offered and it was value for money. This includes accommodation, the river cruise, food, morning tea, evening tea, dinner and also pick up and drop from Kolkata. The rooms... More

Ever since I read Amitava Ghosh's ' The Hungry Tides' I've been wanting to visit the Sunderbans...this unique delta region formed by the confluence of two mighty rivers, the Ganga and the Brahmaputra, a UN World Heritage area now. The Sunderban Tiger Camp provides the perfect opportunity to visit this not so accessible place. The prices appeared steep when we... More
