One of those pubs that looks fantastic, a very impressive display of hanging baskets. Inside, it is cosy/cluttered with lots of stuff to look at, ranging from shotguns to baseball caps. We ate here and the food was good, but on the pricey side. The crab and prawn salad I had as a starter was £7.95 so I was hoping... More

My son and I stayed for one night and had a terrible night's sleep due to an overheated room, noise (to be expected from a pub billet I guess) and quality of the beds & pillows. Overpriced considering we didn't have our own bathroom and had to share a bathroom with other guests. On the other hand, staff couldn't have... More

There were plenty of tables to choose from on arrival. However, as it was a very warm evening, we asked to sit outside on the patio area tables. We couldn't because they didn't do waitress service out there! A shame, as inside was dark as befits a country pub. Great for being cosy in the winter but not so at... More

Four of us went to lunch and had a first class Fish Platters and Fish Pie. Use to live in the area about 20 years ago and its still as good. Great still to see the charming lovely Landlord still their. And he remembered us ! Thanks Martin great to see you and have such a lovely lunch.

A evening meal with 4 others fell just a little short of good. The tables were to close together which meant the service staff were reaching across people on the table to deliver the food. Somethings were left of the dish e.g. Chutney missing of the Charcuterie board, short delay on one main meal coming out and presentation a little... More

My Irish relatives stayed here back in January whilst over for a funeral. They enjoyed their stay very much and loved the hearty breakfasts. The food provided for the wake was very impressive and everyone had a good time under the circumstances. We have eaten here on several occasions and the food has always been excellent. If you are looking... More

This place is a little pricey but worth every penny the meals are delish!!! The last time I went we had a lovely table near the fire place I had a smothered chicken dish and my other half had stake. :-) I so badly wanted a pub but I was full to the brim. Staff are nice and friendly.

This pub offers both pub food and restaurant quality food. We have been going for years and have never had a bad meal. I can understand where some reviewers are coming from on the clutter in the pub/restaurant, but hey this is a true country pub and has a lot to offer and display! You never wait to be served... More

I give this B&B four stars purely based on a pub with character, great food, excellent service & a room to stay to boot, if you need it, as I did for cricket, (two nights in fact). If you want a new swanky freshly decorated room, you will be dis-appointed. I judge a room on comfort, noise, price & amenities.... More

We had lunch on a very quiet day. The staff were friendly and attentive, however the food was of just average quality, and overpriced. The bar was very cluttered, and it all needed a good clean. It is such a shame as it seems to have a lot of interesting pictures and ornaments, as well as a very sleepy cat!
