Stayed at the Varandas in Aug 2006. The view is fantastic, better than the photos, it's about 80m above the sea on top of a cliff and it overlooks Sesimbra town. I think every room has a balcony facing the sea. The swimming pool was always clean and the pool area also shared the great view.

The apartment was well equipped. The two-bed apartments (T2) are duplex with lounge and kitchen downstairs and bedrooms upstairs. There was a bathroom on each floor. Definitely needed new furnishings and fittings, with faded prints on the wall (I'd guess 20 years old) and chipped and broken wardrobes. A lot of the tiling in the common areas was showing signs of wear. Rooms were cleaned daily (except Sunday) and there were lots of towels provided. The two bed apartments have flat roofs and get baking hot in summer, which the air-conditioning cools only with difficulty.

I don't think the restaurant was operating, in any case I didn't try it. There was a bar with snacks by the pool... more
