We'd previously stayed here in 2009 and were told by reception that it was better now it had left the Golden Tulip chain. It was worse. Our room was cold and damp, with the heating not working properly, with the wind coming in through the ill-fitting windows and the double glazing covered in condensation. We complained about the lack of... More

I've used this hotel for over 15 years but this time was the last. It's just too dated. The upstairs levels smell damp and the décor is old. The mattresses are so soft that it takes a great effort to get on your feet after lying on the very uncomfortable beds. The bathroom towels are now so thin you could... More

Very dated, two beds pushed together to make an uncomfortable double, several cracked tiles on bathroom floor, 3 star hotel at best, and a basic one at that, should have stayed 3 days, moved out after one night, not impressed. On the plus side, it was clean and the staff were friendly.

This hotel advertises itself as a 4 star one. This is deceiving. For your consideration: no minibar no bathroom amenities poor lumpy pillows 2 single beds put together no sleepers I would have given it a better score if it advertised and priced itself as a 3 start one. I am not aware of how other hotels nearby look like... More

This is a decent hotel with good rooms. Clean and good bed. the breakfast was a bit disappointing with no fresh coffee and a not too wide variation on offer. The staff is very friendly. overall price/quality is okay.

I would have given Frerikshof a better rating but they're just bit to pricey. It is a nice spot with few attractions: sauna, swimming pool, bowling, you may also rent a bicycle for 7.50/day. Hotel itself is bit dated but at the same time very clean and cosy. Restaurant does the job, I'd recommend prawns on stick with lemon sauce.... More

It was very nice. It was very comfortable and quiet. I definitley recommend it. The beds very clean, and the bathroom was big. Also they have a great summer garden with a little pond. The all you can eat breakfast buffee it is very appetizing and you can find a good variety of things you can choose from. :)

I only stayed there for One night. General atmosphere gives an impression of late 70's early 80's without much renewal. Staff is friendy. Breakfast is typically Dutch and self service. It is unfortunate that there was no fresh coffee available. Rooms were basic and clean. The service at the bar in the evening was a bit slow, but still staff were... More

We had a perfectly fine night in this hotel. The building looks like a former retirement home, and feels quite institutional. The hotel is nonetheless fine and very clean. With bathtub in the rooms and a small swimming pool the value for money is good. Breakfast is decent.

Nice, not too big, pool in the basement; weekdays often swimming classes as the hotel also houses a parttime daycare but when we were there (weekend) nice and quiet. Good room, with tea & coffee making and large plasma TV. Good base for walks through the countryside, e.g. a marshland on a few km's walk. Reception and service were very... More
