The best thing about this hotel is that staff were very friendly, however I went with my out with my brother on a Friday evening to look around the town, It was very quiet but there were a few bars open, and the Castle is beautifully lit, We returned to the Hotel at around midnight, - had to bang on... A very dated hotel and in my opinion in need of complete renovation. E.g; Dark blue and discoloured toilet and basin. Dark carpets and décor - what can't I see? Rotten floor with hole on balcony. Beer bottle with Cigarette ends on balcony. No air conditioning. Staff were very pleasant ... it's the fabric of the hotel that I think... More

Stayed for 1 week during a business trip. Pros: Short walk to town and station Breakfast included All day coffee Friendly staff Great running along nearby canals Cons: Very tatty which makes things look a little dirty Light bulbs out and other minor maintenance issues I agree with other reviewers that the internal decor is somewhat depressing

Just a nights sleep is all you can expect but you might want to take extra clothes. Arrived at 8pm checkin on a cold night and then had to walk along to the annex, cheap carpets, cold looking hotel, sparse room is being polite. Disappointing experience, if you're desperate fine but it's not cheap either. Desk is OK size for... More

This was very much a place just to sleep and have a quick breakfast as I was out for all of the three days that I stayed. The room was absolutely fine, quiet and clean. The bed was too soft for me but this may be just a matter of personal preference. The breakfast was good without being anything special,... More

Don't know what's happening with the hotel, but quality goes down with the minute. No investments are done, that's clear. Rooms are not sound insulated and depending on the room you get give you a very depressed feeling. Carpet is dirty and bathroom quality is very poor. When you have several holes in your towels you know it's not going... More

Very disappointed. Expected a basic, average standard but when we arrived, (not early) rooms were dirty, bed sheets were dirty in many of the party's rooms, the rooms were very dark and dingy, there was a terrible smell of smoke in our room in spite of the hotel being non-smoking, and service was very limited. The manager came back on... More

The room was quite small, with a double bed but just about ok. The flat screen tv does not look as if it is mounted on the wall safely but when I hit my head on the cheap chipboard platform it is sitting on, it did not fall over. The pillows were uncomfortable but the bed was ok. The bathroom... More

It's the second time I stayed here. 5 Years ago I wasn't satisfied. This stay it was good. Room was good and had all the needs. Breakfast is so so. WIFI for free which is a good thing! For the rest nothing special but it will do for a night
