In Camogli, way up in the hills, overlooking Camogli/Genova on one side and portofino on the other, is the hotel. Walks along the ridge, to portofino are amazing. Rooms are lovely, and more spacious in a higher category. Lobby remains old world with a strange and rather unpleasant mix of decor, an overall shame given the potential of this hotel... more

Having a habit of booking before reading the reviews, the Trip Advisor critics left us a little worried about Portofino Kulm. Looking back, all reviews are “somewhat true”, but I must admit: we had a great time. It is not Portofino (at 25 Km). One definitely needs a car to fully profit from the coastal offerings between Genoa and Portofino.... more

Because we could only make our trip in August, this turned out to be a wonderful choice. We had our own car and the shuttle was fine too. The restaurants in Camogli had some of the best food we had anywhere in Italy. (especially the mussels). The hotel was very elegant and felt luxurious after our very tight accommodations in... more

Been there for 3 days. The position is beautiful, but far from the center of camogli. Shuttle service low quality: one time they forgot us and when we called they said was our fault and let us wait hours. rude service at the desk and also to the restaurant: we booked room + wdinner rate (then discovered that you cannot... more

The hotel is in a wonderful location with sea view on a hill above Camogli village. Main issues are: - great sea view - nice restaurant (expensive, average 60 Euro per person) - on average rooms with small bathrooms - beautiful trekking area starting from the hotel - a small SPA inside the structure with a small swimming pool, indoor... more

This was our second stay at the Kulm. We booked two rooms, a double and triple. The setting is exceptional. The hotel is situated high above the Mediterranean - you travel through a park setting for over a mile. Our triple was small for three adults - the hotel upgraded this room on the second night, when a larger water-... more

Hotel Portofino Kulm was our first stop of our vacation in Italy. We enjoyed the spectacular views and a quiet room to recover from jet lag. After a morning hike in the adjacent national park, we rushed back to check out and left a jewelry pouch in the safe. Upon arrival to our next stop, we figured out our mistake... more

A beautiful hotel with amazing views in a peaceful and pretty setting. You definately need your own transport as although the hotel run occasional bus shuttles their timings are not spot on. Ask for a room with the view, as the rooms at the back are pretty dark whereas the front rooms are very pretty. Beppe on reception was very... more

The man complaint is the LOCATION, and the Rude - or indifferent at best - staff. The hotel is located 2km up a windy road, what's the point?? Just stay down below at their sister hotel, or somewhere else near the water/everything else. I liked running on the trails, the gym pathetic, although- at least there was one- very uncommon... more
